Chris Brown Sued For Allegedly Beating Man, Stomping On Him For 30 Seconds: Report

American singer-songwriter and rapper Chris Brown is being sued for allegedly beating up a man at a London nightclub, reported People.

In a lawsuit filed on Thursday and obtained by People, Abe Diaw claims that the “Under the Influence” singer hit him in the face with a bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila in February at TAPE in London.

Mr Brown, 34, was accused of “beating” Diaw in the head with “crushing blows” and knocking him unconscious, according to the lawsuit. Brown then allegedly “continued to ruthlessly stomp” on him for “30 seconds.”

Diaw, who was 43 at the time, “ended up in the hospital with lacerations on his head and torn ligaments in his leg,” the lawsuit states, adding that it left with him “permanent” damage and “severe emotional distress.” Diaw claims that TAPE caught the altercation on surveillance footage, reported People.

Mr Brown is being sued by Diaw for damages and is demanding a trial by jury, per the lawsuit. The singer’s rep and lawyers did not immediately respond to People’s request for comment.

Mr Brown has a long history of legal problems, dating back to 2009 when he physically assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna. Rihanna was hospitalised with visible facial injuries; Brown was later charged with felony assault and uttering criminal threats on March 5. On June 22, that year, he pled guilty to a felony and accepted a plea deal of community service, five years’ probation, and domestic violence counselling.

After completing the yearlong domestic violence course in 2010, Mr Brown posted to Twitter, “I have enough self-respect and decency to be proud of accomplishing this DV class. Boyz run from [their] mistakes. Men learn from them!!!”

Most recently, in May, Mr Brown and Usher reportedly got into a fight the day before they took the stage at the Lovers & Friends music festival in Las Vegas, reported People.

“Unfortunate, Should Not Have Happened”: Congress On Kerala Serial Blasts

Reacting over the blasts that took place at a prayer meeting in Kerala’s Kochi, Congress national spokesperson Charan Singh Sapra said that the incident is “unfortunate” and the state government will take action on it.

“The blasts that happened are unfortunate, it should not have happened. The government there will definitely take action on this…,” Charan Sapra said speaking to news agency ANI on Sunday.

Reacting to Union Minister Ramdas Athawale calling Rahul Gandhi a liar for promising a country-wide caste census, Charan Sapra said Mr Athawale is not aware that the Congress has fulfilled its promises in Karnataka as well as in poll-bound Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

“Mr Athawale does not know what to say and what not to say. He does not know that Congress has fulfilled the five promises made in Karnataka. It has fulfilled the promises made in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh…,” the Congress spokesperson said.

Speaking on the hunger strike called by Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil in Maharashtra, Charan Sapra said that his demand is reasonable.

“Manoj Jarange Patil’s demand is reasonable, the government shows him carrots. Eknath Shinde takes false oaths, Devendra Fadnavis cheats the Maratha people…Ajit Pawar himself is a Maratha, if he is not able to give reservation to Marathas then they should drown…,” Charan Sapra said.

Manoj Jarange Patil once again started a hunger strike in Jalna on Wednesday, after the purported deadline of 40 days given to the state government to announce the reservation expired.

Jarange Patil said that this time the community would intensify its protest and hold chain hunger strikes and candle marches till their demand is fulfilled. The Maratha community has been protesting for the community’s inclusion on the OBC list in the state.
