Yami Gautam recently reviewed her filmmaker-husband’s upcoming film, Dhurandhar: The Revenge. And if her words are to be believed, then the Ranveer Singh starrer is going to leave viewers emotional. Yami, who will reportedly have a cameo in the film, shared that she has already watched it and called it beyond extraordinary.

Speaking at News18 Rising Bharat Summit, the actress said, “I have already watched Dhurandhar 2. It is beyond extraordinary. I was really emotional. I had to catch a flight that day, so I couldn’t say anything to Aditya, but later, I couldn’t do anything. I had to read a script, but I couldn’t; I had to watch something, but I couldn’t. I was just watching the beautiful sunset outside and wondering what I would tell Aditya when the flight lands. I wanted to justify my feelings on the film and what I experienced. Aditya loves his audience and the country, and he has given his life’s effort to make this film. Dhurandhar 2 will be an experience that the audience will never forget.”

She was also asked whether any of her own films would be released on March 19, the release date of Dhurandhar 2. Yami replied, “Look, any main information related to Dhurandhar will be shared by Aditya himself. Like everyone else, I also have an important appointment that day in the cinema hall, so I’ll meet you all there.”

Yami also revealed that she was in the middle of shooting for Article 370 when she read the script of Dhurandhar for the first time.

Scheduled for release on March 19, Dhurandhar 2 is set to clash with Yash’s Toxic. After the first part crossed the Rs 1,000 crore mark, expectations are sky-high. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Sara Arjun, R Madhavan and Rakesh Bedi, among others.

In a development that has sent shockwaves across Tamil cinema and political circles, actor-politician Vijay and his wife Sangeetha are heading for divorce. Sangeetha has reportedly filed a petition at the Chengalpattu District Court seeking dissolution of their marriage on grounds of irreconcilable differences, alleged adultery and mental cruelty.

According to the petition, Sangeetha has reportedly accused Vijay of engaging in an extramarital relationship with an unnamed actress in 2021. She has stated that despite confronting him about the alleged affair, the emotional distance between them only widened. The filing further claims that she endured prolonged mental, emotional and physical neglect during the course of their marriage.

The petition also alleges that she was subjected to verbal disdain and that her financial autonomy was curtailed. It mentions restrictions on her freedom of movement, painting a picture of a relationship that had, over time, fractured beyond repair. In November 2025, the couple reportedly held what would become the last of two discussions to explore a mutually honourable exit from their marriage. Those conversations, however, did not lead to reconciliation.

Vijay and Sangeetha’s relationship has largely remained away from the public glare despite his towering celebrity status. The couple registered their marriage in the United Kingdom in 1998 before holding a traditional ceremony in Chennai in 1999. Over the years, Sangeetha maintained a low profile even as Vijay rose to become one of Tamil cinema’s most bankable stars and later stepped into active politics.

Their son, Jason Sanjay, has ventured into filmmaking as a director, while their daughter Divya Sasha has also occasionally been in the public eye. Despite speculation over the past few years about strain in their relationship, neither Vijay nor Sangeetha had addressed the rumours publicly.
