The All India Council for Technical Education is currently accepting online applications from AICTE-approved institutions to grant postgraduate scholarships to students admitted in AICTE-approved programmes with approved intake in ME/MTech/MArch/MDes through direct bank transfer (DBT) for first-year students in the academic year 2023-24 who have qualifying marks and a valid GATE/CEED scorecard. The deadline for students or institutes to create a student’s ID and submit applications online is November 30, 2023. Institutes must complete the verification process by December 15, 2023.
In an official notice, the AICTE stated, “Students pursuing postgraduate courses with valid GATE/CEED scores, enrolled in AICTE-approved programs, and meeting intake criteria should obtain a Unique ID from their institute. They must then log in at pgscholarship.aicte-india.org to upload scanned copies of original documents in JPG/JPEG format.”
The required documents include the GATE/CEED scorecard and an active bank account linked with an Aadhar Card. Only Aadhar-linked savings accounts are acceptable because the postgraduate scholarship is disbursed through the Aadhaar Bridge Payment System (ABPS) via the Public Financial Management System (PFMS). No-Frill accounts, Jan Dhan accounts, accounts with transaction/credit limits, and joint accounts are not allowed. Bank accounts should remain open and unchanged during the course.
Additionally, students should upload scanned copies of their original Aadhar Cards and valid category certificates for SC/ST, EWS, OBC, and Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) categories, with the EWS and OBC/NCL certificates not exceeding one year from the date of issue.
The institutes must verify the student’s data and approve their eligibility for scholarship disbursement through the portal. It is crucial for the institutes to ensure that the student’s personal information, date of admission, date of course commencement, and completion are accurately filled in.
