Janhvi Kapoor Says Sridevi Faced Unkind Scrutiny During Her Lifetime
Janhvi Kapoor recently opened up about her late mother’s life and how her death impacted her. During an appearance at a podcast, Janhvi shared how her mother faced criticism and harsh labels during her lifetime and how she shielded her kids from the negativity around.

When she was asked if there is anything she would want to tell her mother now, Janhvi opened up about understanding her more. She added, “I understand her now. And I am sorry that I didn’t understand her before. She was dealing with things with a completely different lens, compared to how I used to see it when I was a kid – professional, financial, and others. She started working from the age of four, but she never shared any stories of her struggles with us. She only shared happy stories.”
The actress also shared how losing her mother at a young age has been a traumatic experience. She said, “I try to escape my mind, my inner turmoil. The feelings that I haven’t dealt with, the trauma that I haven’t dealt with. The biggest trauma was losing my mom, especially the way I did, in front of the whole world and dealing with that journey.”

Opening up about her father Boney Kapoor and his trauma of losing his wife, Janhvi mentioned, “I cannot get over the pain of losing my mom. There is no one like her. I miss how funny she was. I miss who she made me, my sister and my father. I didn’t lose one parent, I lost my father also that day, the version of him that existed when she was around.”

Atlee’s sixth directorial venture was finalized in late 2024 and commenced filming in 2025. Several months into production, the prestigious multilingual project has locked its title, which is slated for revelation on April 8. Why have Atlee and Sun Pictures chosen this date?
