Amid the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday spoke with the Director Generals of border guarding forces to assess the situation.

Pakistan, hours after its foiled attempt to target 15 Indian cities, launched an attack on parts of Jammu and Kashmir. While the border areas are under heavy shelling, Jammu is being targeted with missiles and drones.

US Vice President JD Vance addressed the rising tensions between India and Pakistan, stating that the conflict is “fundamentally none of our business.” He acknowledged concerns about nuclear powers in conflict and emphasized the US desire for de-escalation. Vance highlighted India’s grievances with Pakistan and affirmed the US will not intervene militarily, focusing instead on encouraging de-escalation.
