Homebound Screening: Karan Johar Ishaan Khatter and More Arrive for a Star-studded Event

Karan Johar, Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, Naseeruddin Shah, Ayan Mukerji and more have arrived for Neeraj Ghaywan’s film Homebound’s screening. It is slated to release in India on September 26, 2025. The stars have arrived to show support for the movie. In fact, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has produced the film, while Ishaan, Vishal and Janhvi Kapoor star in it in leading roles.

Interestingly, the movie has also been officially selected as India’s entry for Oscars 2026. It will compete against other movies in the Best International Feature category. Karan Johar had previously reacted to the news. He stated, “We are deeply honoured and humbled that HOMEBOUND has been selected as India’s official entry to the Academy Awards… Neeraj Ghaywan’s labour of love is sure to a find a home in a million hearts across the world.”

Other stars, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ananya Panday and more have also shared their excitement about Homebound’s achievement. It was screened at Cannes 2025 and recently at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

Malayalam cinema’s biggest star, Mohanlal, has been chosen for the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2023, Indian cinema’s highest recognition. The award will be presented at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony in New Delhi on September 23, 2025.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, through an official X post announced, “On the recommendation of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award Selection Committee, the Government of India is pleased to announce that Shri. Mohanlal will be conferred the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2023… Mohanlal’s remarkable cinematic journey inspires generations! The legendary actor, director, and producer is being honoured for his iconic contribution to Indian Cinema. His unmatched talent, versatility, and relentless hard work have set a golden standard in Indian film history. The award will be presented at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony on Sept 23, 2025.”

With a career spanning over four decades, Mohanlal has acted in more than 400 films across Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
