Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 2 Reveals New Cast At D23 Expo; Details Inside

Fans of Percy Jackson and the Olympians can now rejoice! As per The Hollywood Reporter, the filming of the second installment of the well-received show has begun. The actors who appeared at the recent Disney’s D23 fan on August 10 revealed a few new faces will be joining the cast. They also unveiled a Disney + brief teaser for the coming season

Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri, and Leah Sava Jeffries appeared on stage alongside fellow series regulars Charlie Bushnell and Dior Goodjohn and new cast member Daniel Diemer, who will play Tyson the Cyclops in season two.

Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal, and Margaret Cho will guest star as the Gray Sisters, who run a taxi service (also known as the Chariot of Damnation) amongst a series of new characters in place.

If you are curious about the Gray Sisters mentioned above, in Greek mythology, the Graeae (or Gray Sisters) are a trio of ancient, crone-like sisters named Deino, Enyo, and Pemphredo.

The sisters with a shared eye and tooth. They are the daughters of Phorcys and Ceto and are related to the Gorgons. Perseus famously steals their eye to learn how to find and defeat Medusa. In modern adaptions, they often appear in witty or supernatural roles, such as running a taxi service in the series.

Season 2 is based on The Sea of Monsters, the second book in author (and series co-creator/executive producer) Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series. Percy returns to Camp Half-Blood a year after the events of season one to find his world turned upside down.

As his friendship with Annabeth (Jeffries) evolves, Percy discovers that he has a Cyclops for a brother. This revelation leads to a series of mysterious and adventurous events that propel Percy on a journey to set things right, taking him off the map and into the perilous Sea of Monsters, where a secret fate awaits him.

Fans are thrilled to see the trio Walker Scobell as Percy, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover returning, and they are also excited to meet the new characters who will shape the narrative.

According to Town & Country, the second season will consist of eight episodes. The Hollywood Reporter claimed in late July that production would commence in Vancouver from July 29, 2024.

“Hindenburg Chose Character Assassination…”: SEBI Chief And Husband’s Statement

SEBI chief Madhabi Puri Buch and husband Dhaval Buch have said US short seller Hindenburg Research has attempted character assassination of the SEBI chairperson, instead of replying to the show cause notice for rule violations in India.

“The investment in the fund referred to in the Hindenburg report was made in 2015 when they were both private citizens living in Singapore and almost two years before Madhabi joined SEBI, even as a Whole Time Member,” the Buchs said in a statement today.

“The decision to invest in this fund was because the Chief Investment Officer, Anil Ahuja, is Dhaval’s childhood friend from school and IIT Delhi and, being an ex-employee of Citibank, JP Morgan and 3i Group plc, had many decades of strong investing career,” they said.

“As confirmed by Anil Ahuja, at no point in time did the fund invest in any bond, equity, or derivative of any Adani group company…” the couple said.

SEBI Chief Madhabi Puri Buch and her husband Dhaval Buch releases a statement in the context of allegations made by Hindenburg on 10th Aug 2024 against them.

“Hindenburg has been served a show cause notice for a variety of violations in India. It is unfortunate that instead of replying to the show cause notice, they have chosen to attack the credibility of the SEBI and attempt character assassination of the SEBI Chairperson,” they said.

“Can’t Let You In…”: Border Force Officer To Refugees From Bangladesh

A BSF officer is winning hearts for his calmness while explaining hundreds of Bangladesh refugees gathered at India’s border why they cannot let them in. The video, shared by former Union Minister and Shiv Sena leader Milind Deora, shows the officer speaking to a group of refugees in a border area in West Bengal’s Coochbehar.

Speaking in Bengali, the officer is heard saying, “We all know the problems you are facing. You have come here, but a discussion is required. The problem cannot be solved in this manner. We cannot let you in even if we want.”

This video of a #BSF officer calmly explaining to Bangladeshis why they can’t enter India illegally is heartbreaking, inspirational & reassuring all at once.

As the gathering protests, the officer continues, “Please listen to me, nothing will come out of shouting. The whole world knows your problem. But a discussion is needed. Once the discussion happens, we will see how we can protect you. You can see, senior officers are here. But if you say that we have to allow you immediately, is that possible?”

“I request you on behalf of my country. Your problems would be addressed through a discussion. We request you to go back, a solution cannot be find in an hour or two,” the officer is heard saying in a video shared by The Indian Express.

Voices from the crowd are heard pleading with the BSF personnel to let them. “They will burn our homes, we will face atrocities,” the crowd shouts.

The BSF officer says the officers know they are in trouble. “My seniors have had discussions with your force. They will listen to your problems. They have asked you to return,” he says.

Praising the officer for his composure, Mr Deora said in a post on X, “This video of a BSF officer calmly explaining to Bangladeshis why they can’t enter India illegally is heartbreaking, inspirational & reassuring all at once.”

“Heartbreaking to see the desperation; inspirational to witness the officer’s calm composure; reassuring to know the government is committed to securing India’s borders,” said the Rajya Sabha MP, who switched from the Congress to the Eknath Shinde-led Sena earlier this year.

Bangladeshi nationals fleeing violence and arson in the aftermath of Sheikh Hasina’s ouster as Prime Minister have gathered at India’s borders in several areas. The BSF is keeping close vigil on the borders. In Bangladesh, members of the Hindu community are holding demonstrations to protest against the attacks on homes and businesses of Hindus.

As an interim government led by Nobel peace prize winner takes charge of Bangladesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said India hopes for an early return to normalcy in Bangladesh and called upon the government to ensure the safety of Hindus.

“My best wishes to Professor Muhammad Yunus on the assumption of his new responsibilities. We hope for an early return to normalcy, ensuring the safety and protection of Hindus and all other minority communities. India remains committed to working with Bangladesh to fulfill the shared aspirations of both our peoples for peace, security and development,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X.

Mr Yunus has condemned attacks on the minority communities and urged the youth to protect Hindu, Christian, and Buddhist families from harm. “Are they not the people of this country? You have been able to save the country; can’t you save some families?…You must say — no one can harm them. They are my brothers; we fought together, and we will stay together,” he has said.
