Adivi Sesh has recently released his film Dacoit, also starring Mrunal Thakur and Anurag Kashyap in leading roles. The movie is currently gaining momentum at the box office. Some time back, Sesh sat with us to speak about the movie and its making. He candidly spoke about Anurag Kashyap being one of his favourite co-stars.

Sesh revealed, “I think he is one of the best actors I have ever seen. And he brings so much gravitas to what he does. But his perception of himself is often like, ‘Sesh, I don’t know anything about acting. You tell me.’ He asks us to tell him what to do exactly. He says, ‘Do one thing, you tell me exactly what I have to do, I’ll do that.'”
He also mentioned, “I tell him, ‘No, sir. You do something of your own.’ And I genuinely believe Anurag sir does not realize how good an actor he is. But he does realise what he brings to the table as a writer and as a director. And we were the first ones to mischievously take advantage of that.”
Sesh then revealed that the writers would go to him and take advice on the Hindi dialogues. “We took our Hindi dialogues to him. We asked him how to make them better. Suddenly, we had India’s best Hindi dialogue writer writing for free for us,” Sesh laughed.

Dacoit: A Love Story verdict
Our reviewer gave the movie 3 stars out of 5. Filmfare’s reviewer mentioned, “Dacoit: A Love Story is a film of compelling beginnings and uneven resolutions. It sets out to explore the fragile boundary between love and vengeance with emotional sincerity, and for a time, it succeeds. Yet, in its pursuit of narrative complexity and spectacle, it loses sight of the intimacy that once defined it.”
