Shekhar Suman Backs Right To Peaceful Protest

Actor Shekhar Suman has spoken about the importance of peaceful protests amid ongoing demonstrations in Delhi demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The protests, which have also received support from several Bollywood celebrities, are linked to allegations of irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Shekhar, recently discussed the importance of public dissent during an appearance on The Lallantop. The actor expressed his support for peaceful demonstrations, stating that people have every right to raise their voices when their concerns are not addressed.

He said, “Protests are a part of politics, and they are also a part of society. We have been protesting ever since we were growing up. When we don’t get something, we start protesting at home, saying that we want this or that. If protests are carried out peacefully and do not turn violent, I think they are absolutely right and should take place. When you don’t get something the way you want it, you have to put in a little more effort and raise your voice for it.”

The actor also referred to Mahatma Gandhi while explaining how peaceful resistance has played an important role in India’s history. He emphasised that when people come together to express their concerns, their collective voices can encourage the government to take notice.

He further added, “If your demands are not being met, you should start protesting. When the people raise a collective voice, the government also pays attention to it. And this should continue to happen. Every person should be able to protest for what they believe in, wherever they are and whatever their position in society may be. I see it as a very positive thing in society.”

Divya Darshan Brings Himachalâs Sacred Shaktipeeths To Screen This Navratri

Some stories live only in prayers whispered inside temple walls. This Navratri, Times Music Spiritual is pulling those stories out into the open. Divya Darshan, a new 10-part documentary series, premieres from October 12 and takes viewers deep into Himachal Pradesh’s most revered Shaktipeeths, the ten sacred Devi temples that have shaped the region’s spiritual identity for centuries

The format itself is what makes this one stand out. Rather than a straightforward travel special, Divya Darshan is an anchor-led, cinematic long-format series built around real conversations, with priests, local historians and researchers unpacking the lesser-known legends and age-old rituals tied to each temple. Expect fewer postcard shots and a lot more storytelling.

Viewers will journey across iconic shrines like Kangra’s Brajeshwari Devi, the eternal flame of Jwalamukhi, Chamunda Devi, and Chintpurni, alongside quieter, mist-shrouded mountain sanctuaries. Each episode captures traditional devotional chants, architectural marvels carved in wood and stone, and intimate interviews with generational temple custodians, bringing ancient Himalayan folklore and sacred customs vibrantly to life.

The project also comes with some serious institutional backing. It’s been made possible with special guidance from Shri Mukesh Agnihotri, Deputy Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, along with access and support from the state’s Cultural Ministry.

Agnihotri himself had warm words for the project. “Himachal Pradesh’s ancient temples and timeless traditions are central to our cultural heritage. I commend Times Music Spiritual for bringing these sacred destinations to a wider audience through Divya Darshan and promoting spiritual tourism in the state.”

Mandar Thakur, CEO of Times Music, echoed that sentiment, framing the series as something bigger than just religious content. “India’s temples hold stories that go far beyond their walls, carrying centuries of faith, history and tradition. With Divya Darshan, we aim to bring these stories to a wider audience through meaningful, long-format storytelling.”

With Navratri already setting the mood for devotion and reflection, the timing couldn’t be more fitting. Divya Darshan streams from October 12 on the Times Music Spiritual YouTube channel.

Exclusive: Mohini Brought Out a More Carefree Uninhibited Side of Me- Yami Gautam on Nayyi Navelli

Ahead of the release, Yami opened up about playing Mohini and explained how the character allowed her to explore a lighter, more spontaneous and playful side of herself. She also spoke about the comedy, physicality and dancing that went into bringing the character to life.
She said, “I think audiences will see a side of me that is lighter, more spontaneous and a lot more playful. There’s much more comedy, mischief and physicality in Mohini, and she gave me the freedom to let go of some of that control that you naturally have as an actor and just respond to what’s happening in the moment. That was very refreshing for me.”
Yami also described the dancing as an enjoyable part of the experience, crediting composer G V Prakash Kumar’s music and choreographer Vijay Ganguly’s work for helping bring out Mohini’s playful personality.

“The dancing was another amazing experience. G V Prakash Kumar’s music has such a playful, infectious quality, and Vijay Ganguly’s choreography really brought that out. I got to let loose and really enjoy myself, which was a lot of fun,” she added.
Speaking about Mohini’s sense of humour, she continued, “I also think Mohini has a very instinctive sense of humour. A lot of her reactions are unexpected, and sometimes the funniest moments come from simply trusting that instinct and not overthinking it. That was something I really enjoyed exploring. I feel like Mohini brought out a much more carefree, uninhibited side of me, and I hope audiences have fun discovering that side too!”

Directed by Balaji Mohan under the banner of Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow Productions, the film also stars Adinath Kothare, Mita Vashisht, Sonal Jha and Sunita Rajwar, among others.
