Budget Session Live: PM Modi’s Last Parliament Address Before 2024 Polls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing the House – his last speech in Parliament before the 2024 elections.

The Lok Sabha today discussed the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. BJP MP Satya Pal Singh initiated the discussion and said that Lord Ram belongs to everyone and not Hindus alone. He also said the construction of the temple was “historic”.

“I am fortunate to get the opportunity to speak about the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the Pran Pratishtha of Lord Ram on January 22 inside the Parliament,” Mr Singh said in Lok Sabha.

In Rajya Sabha, the lawmakers discussed the “White Paper on the Indian Economy” and its impact on the lives of the people of the country.

The Budget session of Parliament, the last of the 17th Lok Sabha, started with the address by President Droupadi Murmu to the joint sitting of two Houses on January 31. It is scheduled to conclude today.

Amitabh Bachchan posted a photo of himself on X on Saturday, a day after his visit to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. In the picture, Amitabh is seen standing inside the recently constructed temple.

In the image, Amitabh was facing away from the camera as he folded his hands and smiled while looking at the deity. He shared the picture with a Hindi caption that translates to “Jai Shri Ram. Aastha ne phir bulaaya, aur kheeche chale gaye hum.”

Amitabh shared the same photo on his blog and expressed, “A travel to the God’s again .. Ayodhya .. and back by the late evening .. sublime, serene, and filled with the reverence that divinity has ever instilled in us all ..Love and may the blessings of the Almighty be within us all.”

During the visit, Amitabh was dressed in a white kurta, pyjama, and saffron jacket.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Amitabh will next be seen in sci-fi action thriller Kalki 2898 AD, where he stars alongside Deepika Padukone and Prabhas. Scheduled for release on May 9, the film also includes Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in significant roles. Additionally, he’s set to appear in the courtroom drama Section 84, directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, which features Diana Penty, Nimrat Kaur, and Abhishek Banerjee in prominent roles.

Mithun Chakraborty hospitalised in Kolkata after complaining of chest pain

Renowned actor Mithun Chakraborty was hospitalised in Kolkata after experiencing chest discomfort on Saturday morning. According to a report by a leading news portal, sources close to the actor revealed that he was feeling unwell, leading to his admission to the hospital where he is currently receiving medical care.

The actor’s family has not responded to the news of his hospitalisation, and the hospital has also not released any statement at this time. Mithun, who recently appeared as a judge on the dance reality show Dance Bangla Dance alongside Mouni Roy, Subhashree Ganguly, Srabanti Chatterjee, and Puja Banerjee, was awarded the Padma Bhushan in January 2024.

Mithun Chakraborty, known for his roles in approximately 350 movies across various Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, Odia, Bhojpuri, and Tamil, expressed disbelief upon hearing that he was to be honoured with the Padma Bhushan award.
