In a major casting coup for action lovers, Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna have come together for an upcoming action thriller that also stars Sanjeeda Shaikh in a pivotal role. According to our source, the project, currently untitled, has officially gone on floors, with shooting underway in Mumbai.

A source close to the development has stated, “Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna are coming together for an action thriller, exclusively for OTT. The shooting prep has started in Mumbai.” The collaboration marks a powerful pairing of two of Bollywood’s most iconic actors. While details about the plot are being kept tightly under wraps, the film is said to feature intense action sequences, high drama and a fast-paced narrative tailored for digital audiences. Sanjeeda Shaikh, known for her versatile performances across film and web series, is set to bring an important layer of depth to the storyline.

Our source has also confirmed that the film is being designed exclusively for an OTT platform, though the streaming partner is yet to be officially announced. Production insiders reveal that the decision to opt for a digital release stems from the growing demand for large-scale action content on streaming services. With shooting currently progressing in Mumbai, more updates, including the title, release window and additional cast, are expected later. Stay tuned for further developments on this much-anticipated project. Siddharth P Malhotra is going to direct this thriller with Sunny and Akshaye in the leads.

On the professional front, Sunny Deol’s last release was JAAT. He is also scheduled to star in Border 2, alongside Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and more. Akshaye Khanna, on the other hand, starred in Chhaava with Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna. Sanjeeda Shaikh was last seen in Heermandi and Fighter.

The event was also graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sachin Tendulkar, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu and G. Kishan Reddy, among others.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s period-drama Ponniyin Selvan: I and Ponniyin Selvan: II.

This year, the actress also made a striking appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. She wore a Kadwa ivory Benarasi handloom saree from Manish Malhotra’s collection and paired it with heirloom high jewellery from the ace designer’s collection. In another appearance, the actress wore ‘Heiress of Clam’, a custom creation imagined in a draped form and spiritual detail. It featured an abstract rendition of the cosmos in bursts of silver, gold, charcoal, and black. The same was accented with micro glass crystals to capture dimension and light.
