‘She’s Happy, I’m Happy’: Antonio Banderas Elated Over His Daughter Stella’s Engagement

Antonio Banderas is happy about his daughter’s major life milestone! Stella Banderas got engaged to Alex Gruszynski, and her father couldn’t be happier. The actor appeared at the amfAR Gala in Venice held as part of the Venice Film Festival on Sunday, September 1. When PEOPLE asked about Stella’s engagement, Antonio replied, “I feel great! She’s happy, I’m happy.”

He also spoke about his future son-in-law, an entrepreneur, and described him as awesome. “I’ve known him since he was a little kid,” the Babygirl actor told the outlet. Antonio was among the amfAR Gala honoraries which also included Richard Gere and film producer Mohammed Al Turki.

The annual gala raises money for HIV/AIDS research and spreads awareness through ticket sales and auctions. At the gala, the Desperado actor was honored with the Global Impact Award. In a statement released by the organization, the actor was praised for his “dedication to philanthropy and commitment to making a difference in the fight against HIV inspires us all.”

Stella, 20, announced her engagement on Instagram with a series of pictures including a few pictures of them as kids. “I get to hang out with my favorite person on earth forever!!!!!!!!” she captioned the post. Her mother Melanie Griffith commented on her post and wrote, “I love you both sooooo much!! Congratulations again!!!”

She also posted unseen snaps of the couple on her Instagram, sharing the happy news. “He asked…. On bended knee… she said yes,” Melanie wrote in the caption. She also teased their love story, which began in pre-school. “True love, deep love! Congratulations to the beloveds!!!” she added.

Stella initially followed in her father and mother’s footsteps and pursued acting. She starred in 1999’s Crazy in Alabama (directed by Antonio) alongside her mother and half-sister Dakota Johnson. She continued acting but shifted her focus to modeling and launched her beauty and fragrance brand, Lightbound, in 2021.

Speaking to PEOPLE in 2010, Antonio spoke about the quality time he spends with his daughter by going on a “date night” every week. “I take her for dinner by herself and we can talk, spend some time together,” he added.

Yo Yo Honey Singh calls AP Dhillon, Karan Aujla and Guru Randhawa ‘superstars’; says ‘wouldn’t count’ Diljit Dosanjh with them for THIS reason

Yo Yo Honey Singh has been ruling the music scene, especially the rap segment in India, for decades now. He was among the few artists who introduced the country to hip-hop and rapping. Since then, there have been several singers and performers who have risen to fame. In a recent interview, Honey spoke about his peers and shared his two cents on today’s independent music scene.

While talking to Mid-Day, Yo Yo Honey Singh said that at this point, the music industry is making streaming stars, but not superstars. Going back in time, he stated that in the past decade, only singers like AP Dhillon, Karan Aujla, and Guru Randhawa have managed to become superstars. He also took the name of ace Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh and said that he wouldn’t count him among them.

Backing his statement with a reason, the Brown Rang singer stated that the Amar Singh Chamkila star was “already [far ahead] in the game; he was already a legend.” Singh continued that he had known Diljit Dosanjh for several years, and they worked together, too. According to him, while the above-mentioned three artists have become superstars, “50 boys and girls have, unfortunately, only become streaming stars”. According to him, this is the biggest problem today.

Recently, the 41-year-old was also interviewed by The Lallantop, wherein he gave unpopular opinions about some of his chartbuster songs. While talking to the media house, Singh said that the peppy number Blue Hai Paani Paani from the film Yaariyan 2 is the most stupid song he has ever written in his life. “It’s nonsense. To be honest, look at all the songs; is there any substance?” Singh said in Hindi. He further stated that the track was completed in just 2 hours with music and recording.

Talking about his other trending numbers, Lungu Dance and Party All Night, he asserted that he was not aware of what he was doing at that time, and people were praising him unnecessarily. “Now when I am asked to perform these songs, I laugh at myself because people are still crazy about these kinds of songs,” Honey Singh divulged.

The singer recently joined forces with Neha Kakkar and Guru Randhawa and delivered the song Hauli Hauli from the film Khel Khel Mein.

Mirzapur 3: Neha Sargam aka Saloni Bhabhi recalls how parents reacted to her role; ‘Beta swachch kaam karna’

Mirzapur is one of the most popular series on OTT these days. The series features an ensemble star cast including Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Shweta Tripathi, and Rasika Dugal in key roles. It also starred actors like Divyenndu, Isha Talwar, Vikrant Massey, Vijay Varma, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and many more. Neha Sargam, who played Saloni Bhabhi in the second and third seasons, recently recalled how the actress’ parents reacted to her role in the Mirzapur series.

During the latest episode of the podcast, Digital Commentary, Neha Sargam reminisced about telling her parents that she bagged a role in Mirzapur. Neha shared that when the actress was supposed to sign Mirzapur-Season 2, she had already watched the first season. The actress remembered how she informed her mom and dad about her role in the series.

Neha Sargam recalled meeting co-director Gurmmeet Singh and co-creator Puneet Krishna before signing Mirzapur. Neha recalled that they were sitting together and later briefed her about the role. The makers told the actress that her character arc would be “better” in the third season.

“Maine bola ‘sir ek request hai, mere mummy papa ne bola hai ‘beta swachch kaam karna’. (Sir I have a request, my mom and dad have asked me to pick clean roles). And they laughed…” she added.

Recalling those times, Neha Sargam continued that she decided to perform “swachch kaam” in the second season after they convinced her to play a clean role in Season 2. The actress added that the makers played “smartly” as they didn’t discuss what happens in the third season with her.

In the same interview, Neha Sargam spilled the beans about having apprehensions about her intimate scenes in Mirzapur Season 3. She recalled meeting director Gurmmeet at his office for the role. The actress recalled that she underwent a “coma”-like situation after learning that she had intimate scenes to play. Neha remembered how she was unsure about the role and wondered if the makers were listening to themselves.

Neha Sargam was paired with Vijay Varma in the second and third seasons of Mirzapur. Vijay played the dual roles of twin brothers, Bharat Tyagi and Shatrughan Tyagi. Neha was cast as Bharat’s wife in the series.
