Sheikh Hasina, the former PM of Bangladesh, is in India as Muhammad Yunus-led interim government takes over. The new home minister said her Awami League party will continue, and steps could be taken to bring Hasina back if requested by the law ministry. Her son initially claimed she wouldn’t return, but later changed his statement.

Government hospitals experienced disruptions as resident doctors protested against the rape and murder of a young doctor in Kolkata. The protests, demanding a CBI inquiry and better security, led to suspensions of outpatient services and surgeries in various states. Emergency services, however, continued to operate.
