Devara Part 1 India Box Office Collections Day 4: Jr NTR led sea-adventure witnesses a significant drop on first Monday; Grosses Rs 13.5 crore

Devara Part 1 directed by Koratala Siva and starring Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor had a very good opening weekend at the India box office, with an exceptional first day and a good second and third day. The movie opened to a humongous Rs 87 crore and after an over 50 percent drop on Saturday, it saw slight growth on Sunday, thanks to the Hindi version. Devara Part 1 could not succeed in passing the Monday test as it collected just Rs 13-14 crore as per early estimates. The 4 day India share stands at Rs 110 crore or so.

Devara Part 1 Drops Significantly In India After Very Good Weekend; Collects Rs 13.50 Crore Gross

The drop in the collections of Devara Part 1 from the opening day is 85 percent and that is significant. The film has not found the kind of acceptance that it was looking for but thanks to the relatively reasonable prices that it has been sold at, it should breakeven or atleast come close to it. The first week for the movie is heading towards Rs 220-222 crore and then it is to be seen how well it holds during the Navratri festivities.

Devara Part 1 Crashes Internationally After A Massive Opening

Internationally, the Jr NTR movie grossed USD 7.25 million in its opening weekend, with over USD 5 million coming from the first day. The film has crashed internationally and a USD 9 million final is where the film is headed. The international distributors will make money on the film since the rights were sold reasonably. The global cume for the movie is set to be under Rs 350 crore. In other the film won’t even triple its opening day.

Regardless, given how Koratala Siva’s last film Acharya fared, Devara has done pretty well for itself. Jr NTR’s star power was in full display. The producers are gaining big on this project. Whether Part 2 is made or not is debatable.

About Devara Part 1

Devara: Part 1 starring Jr NTR in the lead role, tells the story of a man who is both feared and respected across four villages in a coastal region known as Devara. The movie follows his journey as a dacoit and how he eventually turns against crime, becoming an urban legend.

Due to his fearsome reputation, other villagers hesitate to engage in crime, while several adversaries struggle to regain control. Amidst this, his son Vara tries to build a life for himself, standing in stark contrast to his father’s persona and legacy.

The remainder of the film revolves around Devara’s opponents as they attempt to subdue him and diminish his legendary status, while the enigmatic figure hides among them, ready to defend his position.

Will Prince Harry Meet With King Charles And Prince William Amidst His U.K. Visit? Here’s What We Know

Prince Harry will be visiting his home country in the coming days to attend the WellChild awards ceremony. During his stay in the UK, the Duke of Sussex will reportedly not meet King Charles or Prince William.

The prince will visit the UK for the second time in recent weeks, as Harry has been connected with the organization for a long time. The WellChild Foundation has been working on the well-being of seriously ill children and supporting them financially and in their careers.

Prince Harry has been at loggerheads with the Prince of Wales and King Charles ever since his exit from the royal family in 2020. However, the Duke did meet his father soon after the monarch announced being diagnosed with cancer in February. Meanwhile, for his brother, Prince William, and Prince Harry had recently been at the same venue for their uncle Robert Fellowes’ funeral.

The sources close to the British royal family, however, revealed that the tension between the brothers was quite evident to the guests as well. The princes were only five yards away from each other, yet none of them struck up a conversation.

Prince Harry also headed to the UK last year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. While the Duke of Sussex had extended his invitation to the members of the royal family, none were present at the event.

The strained relationship between the father-son duo is allegedly over matters of security, after his wife, Meghan Markle, and himself were denied protection in the country. The insiders revealed to People Magazine that most of the messages and phone calls from the prince to the monarch go unanswered.

Speaking of Prince Harry’s attendance at the funeral earlier this year, the sources claimed to the media portal that many people were surprised by the Duke’s presence. A source stated, “Most people were astounded that Harry came. He was in remarkably good form—and you could tell he was very pleased to see everybody. And he was very pleased that he had come over.”

As for the schedule for Prince Harry’s U.K. trip, the Duke is expected to return to his wife and kids by October 1 after attending the event with the organizations. During Harry’s time in his home country, King Charles and Queen Camilla will be in Scotland to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Scottish Parliament.

After Case Against Siddaramaiah, His Wife Offers To Surrender Plots

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife BN Parvathi has written to MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority), offering to return the plots of land that are at the heart of the corruption cases against her family. In a statement, she said she was obeying the call of her conscience. “Along with returning these plots, I also demand a comprehensive investigation into all allegations related to MUDA,” she said. Earlier today, the Enforcement Directorate filed a money laundering case against the Chief Minister.

In her letter to MUDA, Ms Parvathi offered to return the 14 plots allotted to her in Vijayanagar Phase 3 and 4 “in lieu of compensation for use of 3.16 acre land in Kesare Village.

“I wish to surrender and return the compensatory plots by cancelling the deeds of 14 plots executed in my favor by the Mysore Urban Development Authority,” read her letter to MUDA. “I am also handing over the possession of the plots back to the Mysore Urban Development Authority. Kindly take necessary steps in this regard as soon as possible,’ the letter read.

“Some may ask, why make such a decision at this stage? I made this decision on the very day the accusations arose. However, as the accusations regarding the MUDA plot allocation were politically motivated, some well-wishers advised that we should fight against this injustice and not fall prey to their schemes. That’s why I initially stepped back from returning the plots,” she said in her statement.

“I humbly appeal to the leaders of all political parties and members of the media. Please do not drag the women of political families into controversy for the sake of settling political scores. Do not harm their dignity and honor by involving them in political disputes,” her statement read.

The Central agency’s case came on the heels of a First Information Report filed by the Lokayukta on the orders of a special court.

Besides Mr Siddaramaiah and his wife, his brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy, Devaraju and others have been named in the FIR registered by the Lokayukta police on September 27. Devaraju is the man from whom Mallikarjuna Swamy had purchased land and gifted it to Ms Parvathi.

The MUDA case involves allegations of illegalities in the allotment of Mysuru’s 14 premium sites to Mr Siddaramaiah’s wife by the authority. It has been alleged that the value of the compensatory sites allotted to Mr Siddaramaiah’s wife — located in an upmarket area in Mysuru — is far higher than that of the land acquired from her by MUDA.

Social activists have alleged that the allotment has led to a loss of Rs 45 crore to the state. The have also alleged that the land, shown to be gifted to Ms Parvathi by her brother, was illegally acquired by her brother.

They have alleged that Mallikarjuna Swamy had acquired the land in 2004 using forged documents in connivance with government officials. The papers indicate that the land was purchased in 1998.

Mr Siddaramaiah has denied any wrongdoing and claimed that the allegations against him are politically motivated.
