Saudi Arabia has revised down its medium-term targets for Neom, a central part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s vision to diversify the oil-reliant economy. Originally aimed to accommodate 1.5 million residents in The Line—a futuristic city envisioned within two mirror-clad skyscrapers—by 2030, the project’s expectations have been adjusted to house under 300,000 residents by the same deadline, as per insider knowledge.
