What is Vijay’s last film fees? Actor is reportedly paid THIS whopping amount for Thalapathy 69

Thalapathy Vijay is the man of the moment right now as his final film Thalapathy 69 is on its way to release. The announcement of the H Vinoth directorial has already been shared and the video showcases fans’ emotional reactions who are heartbroken to see their superstar bid adieu to the film world. Amid it all, reports about Thalapathy’s whooping remuneration for his upcoming and last venture, Thalapathy 69, has left everyone stunned.

As per the latest report by Times Now, which has surfaced, Thalapathy Vijay seems to have hiked his fees to a massive amount of Rs. 275 crores for his next and final film, Thalapathy 69. With this, the star becomes one of the highest paid actor in India, surpassing the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Rajinikanth.

While there has been no official confirmation on the buzz yet, but if this is true, then, the actor would be drawing a significantly increased remuneration than his last film, The GOAT. For the unversed, Thalapathy had charged Rs. 200 crores for the Venkat Prabhu directorial.

Earlier, the producer of Thalapathy’s previous film The Greatest Of All Time, Archana Kalpathi, had reacted to the uproar that was caused after the star’s massive remuneration was revealed.

In her justification, during a press meet, she emphasized how a star’s salary gets decided to the proportional amount of revenue they are capable of generating at the box office.

She said, “A star’s salary is proportional to the box-office revenue they can generate. Our production house doesn’t factor in the money that comes from OTT, satellite, and other language rights. We believe a film should recover the costs, and more, during its theatrical run.”

Coming to Vijay’s last movie, it is tentatively named Thalapathy 69, and an official update from the makers’ side is expected to be shared on September 14, 2024, at 5 PM. Rumors surrounding the project have reported that the film will be another massive entertaining actioner, and the actor will pull off a role like never before.

Additionally, another report by Deccan Herald has mentioned that Bollywood actor Bobby Deol has been locked in to essay the role of the deadly antagonist in the film. In fact, both Vijay and Bobby are speculated to shoot for a thrilling showdown climax scene, involving some challenging action and stunts.

What Was ALF Star Benji Gregory’s Cause Of Death? Reports Explored

Benji Gregory, best known for his role as Brian Tanner on the ’80s sitcom ALF, passed away at the age of 46. The cause of his death has now been confirmed by the Maricopa Medical Examiner.

Details of the Tragic Incident

Gregory was found deceased in his car on June 13 in Peoria, Arizona. The medical examiner’s report stated that his death was an accident caused by “environmental heat exposure in the setting of hepatic cirrhosis.” On June 12, the temperature in Peoria reached 109 degrees, which contributed to the tragic incident. Gregory’s sister, Rebecca Hertzberg-Pfaffinger, announced his death on July 10, mentioning that the family initially believed it was due to heatstroke. She shared that he was found in his car along with his service dog, Hans, after possibly falling asleep and succumbing to vehicular heatstroke.

Gregory’s Personal Struggles and Legacy

Hertzberg-Pfaffinger revealed to TMZ that Gregory had been battling depression, bipolar disorder, and a sleep disorder, which made it difficult for him to sleep for days. Despite these struggles, Gregory was remembered for his iconic role as Brian Tanner in ALF, appearing in over 100 episodes from 1986 to 1990. ALF, created by Paul Fusco and Tom Patchett, was a beloved series about an “Alien Life Form” named Gordon Shumway who crashes into the Tanner family’s garage. There was talk of a reboot in 2018, which was later canceled. However, in February, Shout! Factory acquired rights to ALF with intentions to develop new related content.

A Fond Remembrance

Gregory’s passing has brought back memories of his time on ALF, where he was a part of a show that entertained many. His sister’s heartfelt words captured the essence of who he was—a person who brought joy and laughter to those around him. While his struggles were real, his legacy as a beloved child star remains, and he will be remembered for his contributions to television.

Mamata Banerjee Makes Surprise Visit To Protest Site, Addresses Doctors

Taking a surprise step to end the impasse between her government and protesting doctors, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday visited the site where the medics are staging a sit-in and addressed them.

The doctors have been protesting since a trainee doctor was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata last month and began a sit-in outside Swasthya Bhavan, the headquarters of the West Bengal health department, on Tuesday. There have been moves for a discussion between the state government and the doctors since then but they have been getting stalled, most recently over the protestors’ demand for livestreaming of the talks.

Ms Banerjee reached the protest site on Monday and struck a conciliatory tone, asking if she could address the doctors. Amid slogan-shouting she said in Bengali, “Please listen to me for five minutes and then shout slogans, it is your democratic right to do so. I have been waiting for a long time. Against the advice of my security officers, I have come here to salute your protests. I have also been part of student movements, I know my post is not a big deal, your voice is. It was raining all night and you suffered. I couldn’t sleep either because I was feeling bad.”

Acknowledging that the protests had been going on for over a month, she urged the protesting doctors to return to work, assuring them that the government would lend a sympathetic ear to their demands.

“I will study the demands, I don’t run the government alone. I will speak to the chief secretary, home secretary, director general of police. Action will be taken against those who are found guilty. I want justice for Tilottama (the name given to the woman who was raped and murdered). From your platform, I will request the CBI to speed up the investigation. I request you, I need some time to consider your demands. If you trust me, come and talk to me, I will look into your demands,” she assured the doctors.

Urging the protesters to return to work, she said their families were worried about them and many patients had died because they did not get proper healthcare.

“Return to work. I will ensure that no injustice happens. I will set up committees in every hospital which will have senior and junior doctors as members. Everyone found guilty will be punished, it is not like they are my friends (referring to the demand for the resignation of some officials). Please talk amongst yourselves and return to work, I will not take any action. In Uttar Pradesh, action was taken, I won’t do that. I know you work a lot, I know how important you are,” she said.

“If you keep your faith in me, I will look into your complaints. The case is on in the Supreme Court (which had set a September 10 deadline for the doctors to return to work) and the next hearing is on Tuesday. I don’t want you to suffer. I have come to make a request as your ‘didi’ (big sister), not as a chief minister. I am empathetic and I support your protest… I had also gone on a hunger strike for 26 days (during the protest against the acquisition of farmland in Singur), but no one from the then government came to speak to me,” Ms Banerjee added.
