Why Is Liam Payne’s Posthumous Single Release Being Postponed? Here’s What We Know

Trigger Warning: This article mentions death and drugs

Producer Sam Pounds, who collaborated with Liam Payne on his final song before his tragic passing on October 16, has decided to postpone the release of their track, Do No Wrong. Originally set to debut on October 26, Pounds shared this update on Tuesday, October 29. He expressed that, out of respect for Payne’s grieving family, he wants to leave the decision about when to release the song in their hands.

“I want all proceeds go [sic] to a charity of [the family’s] choosing (or however they desire),” Pounds said via X. He added, “Even though we all love the song, it’s not the time yet. We are all still mourning the passing of Liam, and I want the family to morn [sic] in peace and in prayer. We will all wait.”

The One Direction alum passed away on the aforementioned date after falling from the balcony of his room on the third floor of the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The singer had visited the South American country to attend his former bandmate Niall Horan’s concert in early October and extended his stay there until his demise. Payne was accompanied by his girlfriend on the trip; however, she flew back to Florida, her home state, only two days before his tragic death.

A funeral service for the Teardrops singer is still pending, as his body remains in Argentina for investigation purposes. A preliminary autopsy report revealed that Payne died on the spot after plunging at least 45 feet from his hotel balcony, likely in a state of intoxication or unconsciousness. A toxicology report confirmed several days after his demise that drugs, including cocaine and crack, were present in his system at the time of his death.

He is survived by his father, Greg Payne, who is currently in Argentina to assist investigation authorities and arrange for the repatriation of his son’s remains to the UK; his mother, Karen Payne; sisters Ruth and Nicole; his son, Bear, 7; and his former bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik.

The latter also postponed his road shows in the U.S. in light of his friend’s passing.

If you know someone who is struggling with substance abuse, please reach out to the authorities and report it. There are several helplines available for the same.

What Role Did Teri Garr Play In Friends? Find Out As Lisa Kudrow Remembers Actress

Lisa Kudrow recently honored her former Friends co-star and onscreen mother, Teri Garr, whom she referred to as a comic genius and one of the most important people in her life and work. Garr portrayed Phoebe Abbott, Kudrow’s character’s estranged birth mother, in the finale of Season 3, The One at the Beach, in 1997.

In an interview with People, after it was announced that Garr had passed away on October 29, Kudrow expressed gratitude for being able to work with a legendary figure and indicated that many people admired Garr for her distinct talent and genius. She said, “Teri Garr was a comedic acting genius who was and is a huge influence on me and I know I’m not alone in that. I feel so lucky and grateful I got to work with Teri Garr.”

The Friends episode titled, The One at the Beach, revealed to Phoebe Buffay that the person she knows as Abbott, who was supposed to be an old family friend, is in fact her real mother. This development provided further depth to Phoebe’s narrative. It also illustrated some of the amusingly absurd attributes shared by the duo.

Garr also portrayed the character in 2 episodes of Season 4 — The One with the Jellyfish, and The One with Phoebe’s Uterus — in which her character helped the main character Phoebe with her sibling relationship turmoil, trying to decide if she should be a surrogate for her brother Frank and his wife Alice. The character’s authenticity in these episodes was enhanced by Garr’s exceptional contributions.

Most notable for her parts in Young Frankenstein (1974) and Tootsie (1982), Garr passed away on October 29 after a prolonged fight with multiple sclerosis which she acknowledged publicly in the 2000s. In 2006, Garr published a memoir, sharing many of her life experiences, and spoke of the disease – which she described as something that would come and go seemingly at random, but which disordered her life throughout the years.

Teri Garr was a notable actress in both film and television, featuring in recurring roles in series such as McCloud,  M*A*S*H, and The Bob Newhart Show. She also hosted Saturday Night Live on three occasions. Later in her life, Garr became involved in campaigning for awareness of multiple sclerosis and worked as an ambassador for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. In 2011, she retired from acting ending her focus on acting to take up other pursuits.

Salman Khan Gets Death Threat Again, Rs 2 Crore Ransom Demanded: Sources

Adding to the string of death threats against Salman Khan, an anonymous message to Mumbai traffic control today threatened that the actor would be killed unless he paid Rs 2 crore as ransom, police sources have said. Police have registered a case against an unidentified person and an investigation is on. The case has been registered under sections relating to threats of extortion and death threats.

This comes shortly after a 20-year-old man was arrested from Noida over death threats to the actor and Zeeshan Siddiqui, MLA and son of NCP (Ajit Pawar) leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead on October 12. Police have taken Gufran Khan to Mumbai on a transit remand.

Earlier, Mumbai Police arrested Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a 24-year-old vegetable seller from Jamshedpur, over a threat message received by Mumbai traffic police’s WhatsApp helpline. The threat message demanded Rs 5 crore as ransom.

Salman Khan has in the past received death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, apparently due to his involvement in the blackbuck hunting case in Rajasthan during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hain. Suspected members of the gang had opened fire outside the actor’s Bandra home in April. The actor’s security has been beefed up after the string of death threats.

Earlier this month, former MLA and NCP (Ajit Pawar) faction leader Baba Siddique, known to be close to Salman Khan, was shot dead near his son Zeeshan’s office in Mumbai.

Making an appearance on TV show Bigg Boss 18 days after Baba Siddique’s murder, Salman Khan said he didn’t want to be back on the show, but his work commitments brought him there. The actor said he didn’t feel like meeting anyone because of the difficult situation he was going through.
