Mumbai is under red alert as the IMD forecasts more heavy rainfall. Schools and colleges are closed, following over 500 mm of rain in 84 hours, causing widespread waterlogging and traffic disruptions. Two deaths were reported, and train services faced major delays. Mumbai University postponed exams, and nearby cities also closed educational institutions.

The Yamuna River breached the danger level on Monday afternoon, reaching 205.36 metres at the Old Railway Bridge at 2 pm and climbing further to 205.55 metres by 6 pm.
