Harvey Weinstein Returns To Hospital Amid Cancer Battle, Plans To Sue NYC Over Medical Negligence

Trigger Warning: This article contains mention of rape and sexual crimes.

Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, who had been imprisoned for sexual offenses, has been suffering from cancer. He is back in the hospital for treatment. Weinstein is now seeking to sue New York officials, blaming them for prolonged medical negligence.

Weinstein is preparing to seek legal action against New York City Health and Hospitals and Bellevue Hospital. His representative told The Post in a statement, “We won’t discuss Mr. Weinstein’s medical specifics, but we are appalled by the ongoing medical negligence shown by NYC Health and Hospitals and Bellevue. This isn’t the fault of Rikers, CHS [the city jail system’s Correction Health Services], or the Bellevue doctors, whom Mr. Weinstein deeply respects.”

The statement continued, “However, refusing to keep him at Bellevue during his trial is a severe oversight, jeopardizing his ability to attend his own retrial. Mr. Weinstein has hired legal counsel to sue NYC Health and Hospitals and Bellevue, as he has the right to proper care while in custody.” The Academy Award-winning producer’s specific medical issue is chronic myeloid leukemia, but many of the sources are not sure of his health’s prognosis.

Craig Rothfeld, who acts as Weinstein’s legal healthcare representative, was disappointed in how people speculated about his private health issues. Rothfeld stated to the outlet that there’s a need for privacy and did not elaborate further on Weinstein’s condition.

There are claims, advanced by Weinstein’s spokesperson, that this medical negligence could connote ‘some wider agenda‘ to provide inadequate health care in order to thwart his legal efforts, “jeopardizing his ability to attend his own retrial.”

Presently being tried for two sex crimes charges, which have already been overturned by New York’s highest court recently, Weinstein had been convicted in 2020. Charged with rape and a criminal sex act, the Pulp Fiction producer was convicted in 2020 and sentenced to 23 years imprisonment. For the rape of an Italian model in 2013, he received a 16-year sentence in Los Angeles in 2023.

Convicted felon Harvey Weinstein reportedly has over 20 medical ailments, including diabetic retinopathy, coronary artery disease, and spinal stenosis, with dependence on plenty of pills. His health has worsened, needing emergency heart surgery and several other hospital admissions, including the latest for chest pain, which put him in intensive care.

Was Ice Age 6 Announced By Disney? Find Out As Studio Teases Frosty Project At D23 Brazil Fan Fare

Get your blankets out as Ice Age is going to hit soon. Yes, a sixth installment in the ever-loved frosty movie series was recently announced at the D23 Brazil convention.

This super exciting news comes almost three years after Disney had shut down Blue Sky Studios, which was the one animation house behind all the entries of Ice Age, as well as a few more great projects.

At the fanfare, a teaser was released that surprised the one who saw it, as three familiar faces who lent their voice to all the previous Ice Age movies were featured in the clip.

Coming first on screen, only to hit the fans with a surprise, Ray Romano appeared, greeting everyone, also stating that he was about to share a “big news.”

For those who do not know, Romano is the voice of one of the three leads in the Ice Age franchise, the big woolly mammoth, Manny.

Romano was seen wrapped in a blanket while shivering and also having a beanie over his head. He then continued to say, “Wow, it’s cold in here. Did the AC break or something?”

Soon Queen Latifah– who voices the character of Ellie the female mammoth- entered the screen, calling Romano, asking him if he is ready to give the audience the big surprise.

While they move towards the news, Romano asks if someone “could turn the heat up?”

With super enthusiastic music, Romano announces, “Ice Age 6 is coming to theaters!” while snow starts to pour in the video footage.

Excitingly, even Queen Latifah moves her hands, stating, “There we go!” And with frost slowly forming over the screen, we see the old classic font of Ice Age and Ray Romano writing 6 with his finger.

Well, that’s not how the video ends though. John Leguizamo drops in the teaser, all happy and stocked with the announcement.

Leguizamo, who voices the cute little ground sloth, Sid, in the movie, states that the whole herd is back, also adding that he now needs to call everyone he knows.

Per a report by Entertainment Weekly, the movie will even bring in Denis Leary, the voice of Diego, a sabertooth tiger, as well as Simon Pegg, who voices the adventurous weasel Buck.

The latest Ice Age entry,  Ice Age: Collision Course, was released back in 2016. Per the teaser, the next entry will be released in 2026.

Great news for ARMYs! BTS SUGA’s solo album D-2 has achieved a great feat. As per a popular music chart’s estimate, it has topped in 110 regions and has become the first hip-hop album to do so.

The album was released on May 22, 2020. It followed SUGA’s debut mixtape AGUST D in 2016. The songs had elements of traditional Korean music with modern rap. D-2 had also peaked at No. 11 on a music chart, marking the highest-ever ranking for a Korean solo mixtape.

As five out of seven members of the boyband are currently serving their mandatory military tenure, SUGA hasn’t announced any individual tracks yet. However, most members of BTS are releasing solo music, so fans are eagerly waiting for SUGA’s musical announcements.
