Despite government pledges and judicial interventions, the death rate remains alarmingly high compared to developed nations. While vehicle numbers and road infrastructure have expanded, experts argue that lack of coordinated efforts and inadequate accountability for road safety contribute to the ongoing crisis.

The Indian Parliament’s joint committee study tour for the Waqf Bill, originally slated for November 9-14, has been postponed. Opposition MPs had planned to boycott the trips to Kolkata, Patna, and Lucknow due to scheduling conflicts and concerns over a lack of quorum. Earlier meetings in Guwahati and Bhubaneswar were poorly attended, prompting the postponement.
