Throwback: When Millie Bobby Brown Called Then-Boyfriend Jake Bongiovi Her ‘Partner For Life’

Millie Bobby Brown had us all swooning on Sunday, August 11, when she posted her new full name, Millie Bobby Brown Bongiovi, on Instagram.

While still melting, we took a trip down memory lane and pulled up this sweet dedication the Stranger Things actress shared for her then-boyfriend and now-husband, Jake Bongiovi, a year and a half ago. Millie and Jake, for those not in the loop, tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony this May. The couple is also reportedly planning to hold a second nuptial — a grand one this time — soon.

Back to the throwback! It was in 2022 when Millie Bobby Brown referred to Bongiovi as her “partner for life.” The actress took to Instagram back then to celebrate her year with a series of pictures from her travels around the world, including some snaps of herself with her boyfriend.

“Endlessly in love with the year I’ve had! grateful for my friends, family, donkey (bernard), my doggies, my puppies teeth, and my partner for life. Here’s to another year with you and the wonderful people and animals around us. let’s do it again, but better!” Millie, who saw the release of Stranger Things Season 4 as well as Enola Holmes 2 in 2022, wrote at the time.

Aside from the romantic black-and-white picture of herself with Bongiovi, the actress’s upload featured snaps of the pair in the car and on an ice rink.

Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi, who, for those unversed, is the son of musician Jon Bon Jovi, had been dating since 2021. The duo, before their hush-hush May wedding, made several high-profile appearances together, including walking the BAFTA Awards red carpet in March 2022 and attending the Stranger Things 4 and Enola Holmes 2 premieres in May and October of the same year, respectively.

Back to the present, Millie is currently busy filming the final season of her star-making Netflix sci-fi show, Stranger Things. In July, the streaming platform released a first look at Season 5, sending fans into a frenzy. Ross Duffer, the series creator, shared at the time that the production for Stranger Things five was half done.

‘Very Grateful’: Nev Schulman’s Wife Thanks Supporters As She Shares Husband’s Health Update After Bike Accident

TV personality and Nev Schulman’s wife, Laura Perlongo, is holding the fort while he recovers from severe injuries incurred in a gruesome bike accident earlier this week. Perlongo shared a health update on her husband’s recovery and the outpour of love the family has received from their fans and well-wishers.

Perlongo penned a lengthy, heartfelt note on Instagram about the ounce of motivation and encouragement she tries to find within the small moments on Thursday, August 15. The mother of three also expressed gratitude for the support from doctors, nurses, and her family while she managed everything, from Schulman’s medicines to taking care of the kids.

“It’s the kind words and love here and everywhere that pull me up and out of the trenches and for that, I am very, very grateful,” the 37-year-old personality shared in the ardent caption of the Instagram post.

Perlongo shared a bunch of glimpses to illustrate the trying times, showcasing the Dancing With the Stars alum’s “Fall Risk” bracelet and a photo of a broken fingernail. She added a blurred picture of their daughter on the first slide, a broccoli meal, and a picture of herself napping on a hospital couch.

She hinted at how the situation had taken a toll on her mental health but felt thankful for the “love and support” from people. Perlongo wrote, “Since Nev’s bike accident, I’ve been caught in the nonlinear blur of trauma” and wrapped the post with a sweet video of her and her mom hugging it out.

Opening up her heart, she made sure to state that she was “pretty tough” to deal with it all in a single breath, but sudden moments of grief often wavered her inner strength. “But then I’ll accidentally breathe… or try to take a sip of the water pre-accident Nev would leave for me at my bedside and it’s not there and I’ll totally collapse,” Perlongo emotionally admitted.

The rest of the caption was brimming with gratitude and thanked the people assisting Schulman’s recovery. She mentioned the names of every nurse she was introduced to during the debacle and penned little notes of appreciation for them.

On August 11, Nev Schulman announced on social media that he broke his neck after he crashed into a truck on his bike and hit the roadside pavement. The 39-year-old TV show host was on his way to pick up his son from school. He posted pictures of himself in the hospital bed and the X-rays of his injuries.

The Catfish creator never made it to his son’s school and felt glad that he was, in fact, alone during the impact when he hit the truck and fell unconscious. He was admitted to Stony Brook University Hospital and underwent spinal surgery, conducted by Dr. Mushlin, whom Perlongo thanked for their “cool” and “calm” demeanor.

Sustaining fractures, although stable, Schulman clarified he is out of danger and is “not paralyzed.” Initially, there were doubts about the state of his hands.

Laura Perlongo and Nev Schulman got married in 2017 and share three kids: Cleo James, 7, Beau Bobby Bruce, 5, and Cy Monroe, 2.

“Climate Change A Downside Risk To Indian Economy”: Gita Gopinath To NDTV

“Climate Change A Downside Risk To Indian Economy”: Gita Gopinath To NDTV

Gita Gopinath of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has flagged a downside risk of climate change to the Indian economic outlook and called for “a lot of action” on this front. In an interview to NDTV, Ms Gopinath noted how climate change is hurting growth and spoke on job creation in the country.

“In terms of the risks to the outlook for India – one of the downside risks is climate related. We are seeing that in terms of volatility in rainfall, predicting that rainfall and implications for harvest and rural incomes,” she said.

The top economist also pointed out that the temperature rise in Asia has been higher than the world average.

“We have looked at Asia as a region as a whole and you see the increase in temperatures that you see in Asia is higher than the world average. Specifically for India, if you look at 1950 to 2018, temperatures have gone up by half a degree centigrade and that has real consequences,” added Ms Gopinath.

She also highlighted how global climate disasters could pose a bigger financial challenge over the next decade.

“The costs of the climate disasters (globally) that we have seen starting from 1980 onwards has been about half a percentage point of GDP per year and our expectation is that over the next decade, that cost will be about 0.3 percentage points. So, this is a very serious threat that the world faces,” said Ms Gopinath.

“A lot of action is needed to tackle climate change, including from India,” added the IMF economist.

Speaking about a potential solution, she said a package subsidising renewable energy and with a carbon pricing scheme can deliver a clean-energy transition. Trillions of dollars needed for the world to make a clean-energy transition, she noted.

As much as 90% of clean-energy transition funding has to come from the private sector, she added.

‘Lower Employment Growth’

Speaking about India, she said the country has done “extremely well” in terms of headline growth and pointed out it is the fastest growing major economy in the world.

However, she noted that employment growth has been lower than 2% in India. “India’s growth has been capital intensive, but hiring workers has been much less. India needs more investment in human capital and skilling workers. Jobs between 60-148 million need to be created between now and 2030,” she told NDTV.

She also elaborated on the challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence and its implication in the context of Indian job market. “Generative AI is making services more automated and 24% of India’s labour force is exposed to AI,” she said.
