Piyush Goyal termed the Budget “economically and fundamentally very strong”, and stated that it “reflects the aspirations of the youth of the country”.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also tabled the Budget documents which provide a fractional break-up of every Re 1 that comes into the government coffers and how it gets spent.

Budget 2026 proposes establishing and upgrading the National Large Solar Telescope, National Large Optical Infrared Telescope, Himalayan Chandra Telescope and COSMOS-2 planetarium
