Did Liam Payne Suffer From OD Years Before His Tragic Death? Here’s What Report Says

Trigger Warning: This article contains mention of death and drug addiction

Liam Payne suffered from an overdose years before falling to a tragic death. The One Direction band member passed away at the age of 31 on October 16, and days after the fatal accident, a new report suggests that Payne had days when he was gripped by drug addiction.

A source close to the late musician revealed to Page Six that the singer had ODed a few years ago. Another one of the senior musicians of the industry stated that Payne used to overdose at least twice a week.

Following his rehab days, Payne was offered a Netflix series alongside Nicole Scherzinger and Kelly Rowland. A close source shared that the former boy band member’s manager had been forcing him to take up the project, but Payne was in no shape to get onscreen at the time.

The source said, “His manager pushed him to do the show, and there were a lot of worried texts exchanged between us.” They added, “We were shocked; there was no way he was in any shape to do this.”

One of the insiders also shared that a few months before the singer’s death, he had isolated himself from the people who tried to care for him or tried to help him.

As per a previous report by Page Six, Liam’s new manager had intervened and was trying to get Payne back on tour. A well-known source shared, “Liam’s manager moved him to Miami, and away from all of his friends, he isolated him.”

Meanwhile, months before his death, the Story of My Life singer moved in with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, who was with the musician 2 days before his death. While Payne stayed back in Buenos Aires, the later flew back to Florida.

Speaking over the late singer facing a rough patch in his career after his split from One Direction, a source revealed that he could not find the right path. Elaborating over the statements, the source stated, “He was heartbroken and never really recovered. He was lost without his brothers.”

Liam Payne gained popularity over the years by performing in the One Direction band alongside Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zyan Malik, and Harry Styles. The group members met each other on the sets of the X-factor in 2010.

Payne is survived by his parents, sisters, and son, Bear.

Throwback: When Tom Holland Revealed How Uncharted Costar Mark Wahlberg Helped Him Bring Out ‘The Best’ In Himself

Tom Holland may be best known as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man, but he took on a different action role in Uncharted. The film premiered on February 18, 2022, and saw Holland stepping into the shoes of Nathan Drake, a young treasure hunter, alongside Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg, who played his partner, Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan.

Reflecting on the experience, Holland once shared how working with Wahlberg inspired him to push his acting limits, making Uncharted a significant milestone in his career.

Uncharted was not just a new role for Holland; it was his first time acting alongside Wahlberg, an established Hollywood name. Based on the popular PlayStation video game series, Uncharted follows the story of Drake as he sets out on his first big treasure-hunting mission with the wise-cracking mentor Sully.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the film’s storyline required both Holland and Wahlberg to play characters with a strong, evolving bond, which mirrored their real-life mentor-mentee dynamic.

Holland was eager to give his best performance, especially with Wahlberg by his side. “I took my game a notch higher for the film as I wanted to ‘prove’ myself in front of Wahlberg,” Holland said.

Known for his energetic portrayal of Spider-Man, Holland wanted to show he could handle a more grounded action role, and being around Wahlberg pushed him to commit fully to the part. For Holland, playing Nathan Drake was more than just another role; it was a chance to learn and grow alongside someone he admired.

On and off-screen, Holland took the opportunity to learn from Wahlberg’s experience. The connection between their characters, a seasoned Sully showing Drake the ropes, reflected how Wahlberg, who has a long career in Hollywood, guided Holland.

“What’s happening on screen is also happening off-screen. I’m very much the young kid in Hollywood who’s coming up, and Mark is the OG; he’s been doing this longer than I’ve been alive,” Holland stated.

Wahlberg’s industry expertise provided Holland with insight into handling action-packed scenes, an area where Wahlberg has extensive experience. Their bond added to the chemistry between Drake and Sully, making their on-screen interactions feel authentic and relatable. Holland shared how Wahlberg’s approach to the role encouraged him to “bring the best of myself, to show what I could do.”

As Holland recalled, he and Wahlberg’s on-set synergy went beyond acting. Their teamwork and camaraderie made the film’s central relationship believable and grounded, contributing to the authenticity that fans of the Uncharted game series appreciated. “As we brought these characters to life, it was nice to see the synergy between Mark and I and between Nate and Sully,” Holland shared.

Nominations Over, But Uncertainty Lingers Over 15 Seats In Maharashtra

The deadline filing of nominations is over but there is no clarity on around 15 seats in Maharashtra. The ruling alliance of the BJP, Shiv Sena of Eknath Shinde and Nationalist Congress Party of Ajit Pawar is yet to announce the names of candidates for four seats. The Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi – Uddhav Thackeray faction of the Shiv Sena, Sharad Pawar faction of the NCP and the Congress – have not officially declared candidates for 11 seats.

As of now, BJP has fielded 152 candidates, Ajit Pawar’s faction of NCP 52, and Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena 80. This includes the seats they have given to smaller allies — four in case of the BJP and two for Shiv Sena.

In the MVA, the Congress has fielded 103 candidates, Uddhav Thackeray’s faction of Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar are at 87.

In the afternoon, Sharad Pawar had announced that 87 was the final number as far his party — the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) was concerned. But it still left the mystery over 11 seats intact.

While some of these seats are expected to go to the smaller allies and the Samajwadi Party, there is no clarity on who gets what, or even how many.

The unprecedented situation follows weeks of tussle in the Opposition camp. But the ruling alliance, which had more or less got its house in order, has allowed the suspense to grow.

Hand in hand with the apparent indecision comes a near-trend of leaders turning rebel and filing nomination as Independents.

The biggest case in point was Nawab Malik of Ajit Pawar’s NCP, who had filed two nominations from the Mankhud seat — one as an Independent and the other as an NCP member, till the party moved to back him just minutes before the deadline.

BJP spokesperson Shaina NC was also seen contesting from Mumbadevi on a Shiv Sena ticket. Even after her name was announced, BJP members were seen vying from that seat.
