A breakfast meeting between Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar has temporarily eased the leadership tension, with Siddaramaiah reportedly suggesting Shivakumar take over after 2028. This arrangement, however, complicates a planned transition, leaving the party high command to navigate delicate caste dynamics and political calculations.

A Russian oil tanker, the Virat, was struck by an unmanned vessel in the Black Sea near the Turkish coast, with explosions reported. Another vessel, the Kairos, also experienced an explosion. In footage of a crew member aboard Virat, a man reports it to be a drone attack in panic. Ukrainian sources have claimed responsibility, stating they targeted the ships for allegedly transporting sanctioned Russian oil.
