Amitabh Bachchan shares how Alia Bhatt turned emotional at recent event

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan recently reflected on an emotional moment involving Alia Bhatt at the Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan 2026, a nationwide initiative focused on promoting responsible road behaviour and saving lives. Both actors attended the Mumbai event to lend their voices to the cause, which aims to raise awareness about road safety and encourage timely assistance to accident victims.
Taking to his personal blog, Amitabh shared insights from the event and revealed how deeply Alia was affected by one particular interaction. The programme featured a conversation with a woman who had lost her son in a tragic road accident due to the absence of immediate help. According to Bachchan, the discussion highlighted a crucial issue, people’s hesitation to assist accident victims out of fear of police involvement.

He explained that this fear has now been addressed through updated policies that protect and even reward good samaritans who step in to help. Bachchan praised the grieving mother for her courage in sharing her experience publicly, noting that her intent was not driven by anger, but by a heartfelt appeal for others to act differently in the future. He recalled how she later learned from doctors that her son could have survived had he been brought to the hospital sooner.

The moment proved overwhelming for Alia Bhatt, who is the mother of a three-year-old daughter. Amitabh noted that while speaking about the incident and its wider implications, Alia became visibly emotional and was unable to continue. He described her reaction as a reflection of empathy, motherhood and the emotional weight of the story. Bachchan added that he suggested turning this painful experience into a larger awareness campaign, urging people to consider that they or their loved ones could one day find themselves in a similar situation.
Alia Bhatt welcomed her daughter Raha in November 2022 and continues to balance motherhood with a busy professional slate. She will next be seen in Alpha, an action thriller from the YRF Spy Universe, alongside Sharvari and Bobby Deol. She is also part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love & War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, slated for a 2026 release.

Sunny Deol and Jyotika Team Up for Farhan Akhtarâ“AR Murugadoss Action Thriller

Sunny Deol is showing no signs of slowing down. After making waves at the box office with Border 2, the actor has locked in his next big project, an action-packed thriller that will see him sharing screen space with Jyotika for the first time. The yet-untitled film is set to go on floors in February 2026 and is being jointly produced by Farhan Akhtar and acclaimed filmmaker AR Murugadoss.
According to the latest updates, the film will be directed by Balaji Ganesh, marking his debut as a filmmaker. Interestingly, this project also brings together Farhan Akhtar and AR Murugadoss as co-producers for the first time, adding to the buzz surrounding the venture. While the makers are keeping plot details tightly guarded, the film is being positioned as a gritty action thriller.
Although the official title has not been announced yet, images from the project’s clapboard hint at the name Antony. However, it remains to be seen whether this will be the final title or a working one. Reports also suggest that Balaji Ganesh has previously worked as an assistant director under AR Murugadoss, including on the Salman Khan–Rashmika Mandanna starrer Sikandar.

On the professional front, Sunny Deol is currently enjoying the success of Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh. The film, a standalone sequel to the 1997 classic Border, is set against the backdrop of the 1971 India–Pakistan war and showcases coordinated military operations by the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy. Deol plays Lt. Col. Fateh Singh Kaler and stars alongside Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, with several other actors in key roles. He also has Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, and a forthcoming Ramayana film series lined up.

Jyotika, meanwhile, was last seen in the web series Dabba Cartel, where she played a pivotal role. The crime drama revolves around a group of women secretly running a drug cartel under the cover of a food delivery business and featured an ensemble cast including Shabana Azmi and Nimisha Sajayan.
With a powerful pairing, a debut director and seasoned producers backing it, the upcoming Sunny Deol–Jyotika project is already shaping up to be one to watch.
