A wreath-laying ceremony was held in Manipur’s Imphal to honour the two Assam Rifles soldiers who died in the Friday’s ambush in Bishnupur district.

Students gheraoed the office of West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences Vice-Chancellor (V-C) Nirmal Kanti Chakrabarti, protesting against the “glaring lack of financial transparency” and “administrative failure”.

Police identified the accused as Mohammad Shahid, who was booked under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and section 170 of the BNSS
