The Last Of Us Trailer: Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey Ready To Battle New Fears and Inner Demons in Season 2’s First Look

HBO has released the teaser trailer for The Last of Us season 2, and fans can expect intense emotions to surface as Pedro Pascal’s Joel catches up with his personal, opulent, and gruesome past details, which also include Ellie, portrayed by Bella Ramsey.

The storyline of the upcoming season will pick up right where the first season left off. The trio of Joel, Ellie, and Tommy will tell the plot ahead after surviving a major apocalypse at the end of the last few episodes.

As for the plot of the new season of The Last of Us, the official synopsis of the series reads, “After five years of peace following the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up to them, drawing them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”

For the cast members of the upcoming season of the Emmy-winning show, Pascal, Ramsey, and Gabriel Luna will be joined by Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, Young Mazino, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, Spencer Lord, Danny Ramirez, and Jeffrey Wright.

According to media reports, Catherine O’Hara will likely appear in the series.

The first season of The Last of Us broke multiple records and became the most-watched season in history. The first bundle of episodes was released in 2023, leaving fans wanting more of Pascal and Bella Ramsey onscreen.

Furthermore, the show went on to receive eight Emmy nominations, including Pascal and Ramsey’s, for their brilliant performances in the first season.

The show is written by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, who have also come on board as the producers. The episodes of the first season were directed by Bruce Straley and Druckmann. As for the executive producers, Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Evan Wells have funded the HBO series.

Apart from the first preview, the makers of The Last of Us have also released three exclusive posters of the lead characters, including Joel, Ellie, and Abby. The new season’s release date has not been announced yet, but it is confirmed to drop in 2025.

Shraddha Kapoor is currently enjoying the success of her latest release, Stree 2. While thriving in her professional journey, she never misses an opportunity to support her close friends and fellow B-town stars in their ventures. Recently, Kapoor shared a selfie with her favourite human Bhuvan Bam on social media to wish him luck for the second season of his much-anticipated show, Taaza Khabar.

In the selfie, the duo looks absolutely adorable, radiating joy and cheerfulness with their bright smiles. Kapoor captioned the post, “One of my favourite humans. The sequel to Bhuvan Bam’s digital debut, which premiered in January 2023, will continue the storyline from the first season. In Taaza Khabar season 2, viewers can expect gripping moments as Vasya squares off against his toughest rival, Yusuf Akhtar.

Following the success of the first season, fans are eagerly anticipating the unfolding drama in the new chapter. The upcoming season will also feature Shriya Pilgaonkar, Prathamesh Parab, Deven Bhojani, and Shilpa Shukla in pivotal roles and is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on September 27, 2024.

Kapoor’s recent project, Stree 2, is performing exceptionally well at the box office. Directed by Amar Kaushik and featuring Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Tamannaah Bhatia, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and others, the film achieved the highest sixth-week earnings ever for a Hindi movie during its sixth weekend, surpassing a record held by Uri: The Surgical Strike for over five years.

Stree 2 garnered Rs 13 crore during its sixth weekend, and if the trend continues, its total for the sixth week is expected to reach around Rs 20 crore. After AAP Vs Lt Governor, Delhi Civic Body Panel Election To Be Held Today

The latest flashpoint between Delhi’s ruling Aam Aadmi Party and the Lieutenant Governor came to an abrupt halt late on Thursday evening as the election of a single Standing Committee member of the civic body, which VK Saxena was insisting on being held by 10 pm, was called off. After an all-evening drama that included an eleventh-hour press conference by senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia, officials from Raj Bhavan said the election cannot not be held on Thursday. The fresh date is Friday at 1 pm.

Pointing to the Lieutenant Governor’s message that the election has to be held by 10 pm, Mr Sisodia had told reporters, “How can elections be held without councillors? AAP and Congress councillors have gone home”.

Then he added, “Elections on one hour’s notice is unconstitutional’.

Election for the seventh member of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s Standing Committee – scheduled for today — was deferred by Mayor Shelly Oberoi till October 5. Her move came after a row over security check of the councillors — who were not being allowed even to carry their cellphones inside. The mayor had called it “undemocratic” and “unconstitutional”.

But Mr Saxena overturned it with an order that said the MCD Commissioner, Ashwini Kumar, is “directed to submit a report of conduct of elections of the sixth member of standing committee by 10 pm today”.

“In case the Mayor is unavailable or refuses to preside over the meeting. the Deputy Mayor may be requested to preside over the meeting for conduct of elections,” the order read.

The Standing Committee of the MCD is responsible for taking most of its financial decisions. Currently it has three AAP and two BJP members.

The appointment of a sixth member – pending for months – is expected to break the tie. With 12 members from zones already elected, it would take the tally to eight members for AAP and nine for the BJP in the 18-member Standing committee.

AAP has alleged that today’s order was the Lieutenant Governor’s tactic to tilt the balance of power towards the BJP.

In a statement, the BJP said it had asked the MCD Commissioner to hold the election as per law and directions of the Supreme Court. The party said it would file a contempt petition against the Mayor and Arvind Kejriwal tomorrow on Friday.

This vacancy was created after BJP councillor Kamaljeet Sehrawat resigned following her election to the Lok Sabha from the West Delhi parliamentary seat earlier this year.
