Over 1,000 Bangladeshis, primarily Hindus, tried to cross into India in Bengal’s Cooch Behar district, citing ‘grave perils and torture’ in their homeland. The prosecution revealed that blood samples of a minor and his two friends involved in a fatal Porsche crash in Pune were replaced at Sassoon hospital to show they weren’t drunk. The replacements were orchestrated by the minor’s parents and hospital staff, who allegedly received Rs 2.5 lakh for the act. Bail hearings for the accused are ongoing.
