Was Sean Diddy Combs Really Suicidal Post-Arrest? Rapper’s Lawyer Has THIS To Say About Suicide Watch

Trigger Warning: This article includes references to sexual abuse, suicide, sex trafficking, and substance abuse.

Sean Diddy Combs, who is presently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York, has been put on suicide watch but his counsel claims there is no such indication. His lawyer Marc Agnifilo, says, the suicide watch is precautionary concerning a new influx of high-profile prisoners, whose mental well-being is being misread.

Agnifilo, who lingered for six hours with Diddy at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) said that his client is upbeat, mentally fit, and willing to demonstrate that he is not at all guilty of any criminal wrongdoing. His words to TMZ about Diddy’s current state were, “strong, healthy, confident and focused on his defense.”

He categorically asserted that the suicide watch status is simply a procedural step that is taken in the care of famous prisoners and does not mean Diddy is suicidal. He observed that Diddy does not exhibit any features that would indicate a risk of self-harm and is intent on developing a defense plan against the accusations he is facing.

Diddy, 54, was arrested on September 16 in New York City with a sex trafficking indictment brought through a federal grand jury against him which includes racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation of women for prostitution purposes.

As per various outlets, over the years, the treatment of patients within the MDC, and where Diddy is held, have come under fire. It is notorious for its inadequate accommodation and other resources for inmates and has recorded numerous incidences of inmates hanging and hurting themselves

Faced with such grim circumstances, Agnifilo set out to request the District Court to transfer Diddy to the correctional center located at Essex County, Newark, New Jersey claiming that the MDC situation was inappropriate. This appeal is still pending, as per TMZ.

P. Diddy has a lot of controversies to deal with. As per People, he hosted events where participants were abused, drugged, threatened, and filmed against their will. The probe took a dramatic turn in March when federal agents stormed Diddy’s bases in Miami and Los Angeles discovering three AR-15 rifles and 1000s of lubricant bottles.

Sean Diddy Combs is in custody and due for his next court hearing which is set to be on September 24.

‘She Was In…’: Cheryl Hines Enjoyed Emmys 2024 To The Fullest Days Before Husband RFK Jr.’s Scandal, Insider Reveals

Cheryl Hines was having fun at the Emmys 2024 afterparty just a few days before the reports of her husband RFK Jr.’s scandal broke out. Notably, she showed up at the Emmy Awards discernibly before news broke of her husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr. having an affair with a journalist. A New York Magazine report noted that Washington correspondent Olivia Nuzzi was put on leave. The reason behind such a step was her affair with Kennedy, as per CNN.

As per People magazine, after the Emmy Awards on September 15, during the HBO/Max Primetime Emmy Awards afterparty at the San Vicente Bungalows, she was very lively at the Curb Your Enthusiasm table where Jeff Garlin sat down with Hines. The outlet’s source confirmed, “She was in good spirits.”

On September 19, a representative from New York Magazine confirmed that Nuzzi breached the rules while covering RFK Jr.’s presidential bid and having an affair with him. As the publication, it is “a violation of the magazine’s standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures.”

The spokesman added that had they been informed about the intimacy sooner than it was, none of them would have allowed Nuzzi to continue reporting the campaign. They expressed their regret over the violation of their reader’s faith.

Meanwhile, Nuzzi told People that their relationship was not physical. She clarified that it was not a physical affair but accepted that the relationship indeed should have been declared to prevent further conflicts. She stated, “I deeply regret not doing so immediately and apologize to those I’ve disappointed, especially my colleagues at New York.”

Cheryl Hines’s husband Kennedy, who had dropped out of the 2024 presidential contest in August, subsequently backed Donald Trump. Though neither Nuzzi nor New York Magazine directly mentioned Kennedy as the other person involved in the scandal, in the sources provided to CNN it was reportedly stated that the 70-year-old was the one in question.

However, a spokesperson for Kennedy told The Washington Post that he ever had only a single interview with Olivia Nuzzi about her article, The Mind-Bending Politics of RFK Jr.’s Spoiler Campaign for which she approached Kennedy in November 2023. They met once.

“She Was At A Crossroads”: Cousin Of EY Employee Who Died Of ‘Overwork’

Anna Sebastian Perayil, the 26-year-old EY India employee who allegedly died of ‘overwork’, sparking outrage and a nationwide debate on working conditions, was supposed to get married this month, one of her cousins has revealed.

Sunil George Kuruvilla, an assistant director at research and analytics firm Acuity Knowledge Partners, also recounted that Anna had two options: pursuing an MBA or chartered accountancy, and she chose the latter, going on to join EY India after finishing the course. Quoting Robert Frost’s ‘The Road Not Taken’, he said: “And that has made all the difference.”

After Anna’s mother, Anita Augustine, wrote a letter to EY India Chairman Rajiv Memani on the challenges her daughter faced at work, Mr Memani has said that he will not rest until the company accomplishes its objective of nurturing a harmonious workplace.

In the strongly worded, eloquent LinkedIn post on Friday, Mr Kuruvilla said his second cousin Anna was gone forever but she is now more powerful than ever. Likening her to a canary in the coal mine – a phrase used to speak of indicators or warnings of potential danger – he said what happened to her may save young lives “from the clutches of silver-tongued executives who act like the Grim Reaper.”

“A few years back, Anna was at a crossroads in her career: an MBA from IRMA or a CA degree. She spoke with my dad at length and finally decided to go for a CA degree, against his advice. To echo Frost’s lines, two roads diverged in a wood, and she took one, just as fair. And that has made all the difference,” Mr Kuruvilla wrote.

The executive said he had called Anna’s grandfather after he got news of the death. Her grandfather, he recalled, spoke at length, his voice breaking.

“I didn’t weep, even when he told me her marriage was arranged for this month. Sometimes tears are not enough… I must pause now. But Anna lives on in me and in those who nurture fond memories of her. Anna is more powerful than ever,” he wrote.

Mother’s Letter

In her letter to Mr Memani, Ms Augustine wrote that Anna passed her chartered accountancy exams on November 23 last year and joined EY Pune on March 19, dying just four months later.

“She was full of life, dreams, and excitement for the future. EY was her first job, and she was thrilled to be part of such a prestigious company. But four months later, on July 20th, 2024, my world collapsed when I received the devastating news that Anna had passed away. She was just 26 years old,” she said.

The heartbroken mother said Anna’s workload was so high that she had been complaining of chest constriction for a week after reaching her paying guest accommodation at 1 am every day and insisted on going to work even after seeing a doctor, saying she had a lot of tasks pending and would not get leave.

Ms Augustine also pointed out that no one from the company had attended Anna’s funeral, which the family found deeply hurtful, and added that she hoped that her letter would spark real change so that no other family has to endure what they went through.

Chairman’s Response

Mr Memani said that, as a father, he could understand Ms Augustine’s grief, adding that the fact that no one from the company attended the funeral is alien to their culture.

“I have conveyed my deepest condolences to the family, although nothing can fill the void in their lives. I truly regret the fact that we missed being present at Anna’s funeral. This is completely alien to our culture. It has never happened before; it will never happen again,” he wrote on LinkedIn on Thursday.

“I would like to affirm that the well-being of our people is my top-most priority and I will personally champion this objective. I am absolutely committed to nurturing a harmonious workplace, and I will not rest until that objective is accomplished,” he added.

The Union government has said it is investigating the circumstances that led to Anna’s death and, on Friday, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said he had a “deeply emotional and heartrending” conversation with her father, Sibi Joseph.

Mr Tharoor also said that he had agreed to Mr Joseph’s suggestion to raise the issue of bringing in legislation capping work hours in public and private sector offices to eight hours a day, five days a week.
