Sela tunnel is the world’s longest bi-lane tunnel, constructed by the Border Roads Organization at an altitude above 13,000 feet, costing Rs 825 crore. The Sela tunnel will ensure rapid deployment of troops and heavy weaponry, including artillery guns, from the 4 Corps headquarters in the Assam plains to Tawang, addressing any emergent situations swiftly.
