Amari is all business- Simone Ashley on her character in The Devil Wears Prada 2 – Exclusive

It is just a day before The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits the big screen, and anticipation for the sequel is at an all-time high. The David Frankel directorial brings back its key characters, while introducing new faces, including Simone Ashley.

The Bridgerton actress plays Amari, Miranda Priestly’s new assistant. Sharp, no-nonsense, and fiercely focused, Amari is all business. Speaking about the role, Ashley said that she worked closely with Aline Brosh McKenna, the screenplay writer, to shape the character, brainstorming what her life in Manhattan would look like.
“Amari is all business. Aline and I would brainstorm about the kind of life in Manhattan she would have outside of Runway. She has a deep passion and education for the world she works in, but also a confidence and a very strong sense of self when it comes to assisting and protecting Miranda. I love how Aline introduces her—she’s the voice for the younger, newer audience that perhaps didn’t grow up with the original,” said the actress.
Meanwhile, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt are reprising their roles as Miranda Priestly, Andrea Sachs, Nigel Kipling and Emily Charlton, respectively. Joining them are Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Kenneth Branagh, Lucy Liu, BJ Novak and Patrick Brammall, among others.

The sequel focuses on how the print medium struggles to survive in the digital age. It follows Andy Sachs as she returns to Runway to help Miranda Priestly sail through a crisis. The latter finds herself grappling with a shifting media landscape and the magazine’s uncertain place within it. They cross paths again with Miranda’s former assistant Emily, now leading a luxury brand whose financial backing could prove crucial to Runway’s survival.

It will be released in theatres on May 1.

Lukkhe Trailer: King Palak Tiwari and Raashii Khanna Star in High Stakes Drama

Singer King is all set to make his debut with the upcoming series, Lukkhe. The trailer was released recently starring King, along with Palak Tiwari, Raashii Khanna and Lakshvir Singh Saran, among others. Lukkhe is a fictional musical action drama, where rap, revenge, and redemption collide.
The trailer of the series plunges viewers into a high-octane world, spotlighting MC Badnaam (played by King) commanding the mic, his fierce rivalry with MC OG (played by Shivankit Parihar), and the emerging love story between Lucky (played by Lakshvir Singh Saran) and Sanober (played by Palak Tiwari).

The narrative builds on intensity and emotion as tensions escalate and the worlds of rap, crime, and relationships collide, spiraling into a gripping tale of revenge, redemption, and high-stakes action. Driving this momentum is a pulsating, genre-spanning soundtrack, from hard-hitting rap anthems to emotionally charged melodies, that amplifies every beat, while leaving audiences with a lingering question: in a world where rap aur badla, dono loud hai, who will rise above the noise—and who will be consumed by it?
Watch it here:
Himank Gaur, the director of Lukkhe, said, “Lukkhe gave me a chance to dive into a world that’s loud, emotional, and constantly on edge. What stayed with me was how every character is chasing something personal, and music becomes their way of expressing it. Working with this cast, especially KING in his debut, along with Raashii, Lakshvir, and Palak, was incredibly rewarding because they brought honesty that elevated every moment. Collaborating with Prime Video for the first time has been a fantastic experience, and I am excited for audiences to step into the world of Lukkhe when it premieres on Prime Video on May 8.”
Raashii Khanna, who plays Gurbani in Lukkhe, said, “Playing Gurbani in Lukkhe was a really intense and fulfilling experience. What I found most interesting was how her strength comes from something deeply personal, which shapes every decision she makes. It was about finding that balance between vulnerability and grit. Coming back to work with Prime Video after Farzi felt special, and being part of a story that’s so different in tone made it even more exciting. I am really looking forward to audiences experiencing her journey when the series premieres on Prime Video on May 8.”
KING, who plays MC Badnaam in Lukkhe, shared, “Stepping into Lukkhe as MC Badnaam has been a defining moment for me, as it marks my debut as an actor and my first experience in long-format storytelling. What drew me in was how real his hunger and need to be heard felt. It’s something I connect with as an artist. Bringing music into his journey made the experience even more personal. The entire cast and team brought great energy, and I am excited for audiences to see this different side of me.”
Palak Tiwari, who plays Sanober, said, “Sanober’s journey felt very real to me. She’s trying to find her place again, while dealing with both strength and vulnerability. I really enjoyed exploring those emotions, especially how music becomes her support through everything she goes through. It was also my first time working with Prime Video, and the whole experience felt new and creatively satisfying. Being part of a story that has both intense and heartfelt moments, along with a team that brought so much honesty to it, made this journey truly memorable.”
The ensemble cast of the series also includes Nakul Roshan Sahdev, Kritika Bharadwaj, Shivankit Parihar, Yograj Singh, and Ayesha Raza, among others.
Lukkhe will premiere on Prime Video on May 8.
