A Bengaluru electrician, Lakshman, has been arrested for murdering a 50-year-old woman, D Mary, to rob her gold ornaments worth Rs 4 lakh. Inspired by a Kannada movie to destroy evidence, he disposed of her body in a dumpyard. Police tracked him through call records, leading to his confession and recovery of the skeletal remains.

BJP leader Amit Malviya shared a photo linking Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah with actress Ranya Rao, who is accused in a gold smuggling case. Malviya took a dig at Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, who had earlier denied any political connection to the case, further escalating tensions.
