Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur have once again caught the attention of fans. After rumours about their personal lives, new reports suggest that they are set to collaborate professionally on an upcoming film project.

According to a report by Filmibeat Tamil, the duo is in talks for a new movie that is being described as a female-centric story. The project reportedly offers a substantial and compelling role for the female protagonist, with Mrunal Thakur being considered for the lead. Discussions for the film are said to be in the final stages, and an official announcement about the collaboration is expected to be made soon.

This news comes amid dating speculations that began in August 2025. The actors were first linked after being spotted together at the premiere of Mrunal’s film, Son Of Sardaar 2. Speculation grew further when Mrunal attended the wrap party for Dhanush’s project Tere Ishk Mein. More recently, social media activity, specifically Mrunal following Dhanush’s sisters on Instagram has added to the buzz. Despite the frequent headlines, both stars have maintained a private stance on their personal lives.

On the work front, both actors have busy schedules. Mrunal Thakur was recently seen in the action-romantic drama Dacoit alongside Adivi Sesh. The film featured a supporting cast including Anurag Kashyap and Prakash Raj. While the movie received mixed reviews, it managed to earn nearly Rs 40 crore during its opening weekend in India.

Dhanush, meanwhile, is preparing for the release of his next film, Kara. The recently released trailer reveals a story set against the backdrop of the 1991 Gulf War. The casting of the third part of the iconic Don franchise has been a subject of intense discussion recently. After weeks of uncertainty around Ranveer Singh’s sudden exit from Don 3, it seems the dispute between him and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment has finally reached a peaceful conclusion.

The situation took an unexpected turn a few weeks ago when Ranveer exited the project. After this, reports emerged that Excel Entertainment had demanded damages from him for the sudden change in plans. While several industry authorities were reportedly involved to help mediate the situation, the matter has now been resolved through a fair and graceful settlement.

According to reports from the Free Press Journal, Ranveer has taken steps to compensate the production house for his exit. He has reportedly returned his entire signing amount for the film, which was estimated to be around Rs 10 crore.

However, the settlement goes beyond just the return of the initial fee. To further compensate Excel Entertainment for the exit, Ranveer has reportedly offered the production house a stake in his next project, which is tentatively titled Pralay.

While the exact details of this stake remain private, sources suggest that the specific percentage has not been disclosed because the logistics of Pralay, including its final budget and filming schedule are still being finalised.

A source commented on the development, saying, “Ranveer has gracefully agreed to return his signing amount, which was reportedly around Rs 10 crore. To further compensate Excel, he has reportedly agreed to give them a stake in his next film, tentatively being referred to as Pralay.”

The source further added that Ranveer’s approach has been appreciated within the industry, mentioning, “However, just the fact that Ranveer has shown so much grace is good enough to make him a fair player in the industry. Like they say in fairy tales, all is well that ends well.”

Fans of the Citadel franchise have a reason to celebrate. The wait for the next season is nearly over, as Prime Video has officially announced the return of its global franchise. On Tuesday, the platform released an action-packed trailer for the second season, confirming that the spy series starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden will premiere on May 6.

The series continues the story of elite operatives Mason Kane, played by Richard Madden, and Nadia Sinh, played by Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Alongside them is Bernard Orlick, played by Stanley Tucci. All three are former members of Citadel, a legendary independent spy agency that was destroyed by Manticore, a ruthless and secretive network backed by the world’s most powerful families.

According to a press note about the new season’s plot, the stakes have never been higher. It read, “When a terrifying new threat emerges, “the three are pulled back into action. Now they must recruit an unlikely team of skilled new operatives and launch a globe-spanning mission to stop a conspiracy that could reshape humanity.”

The upcoming season will see many familiar faces returning to the screen. Apart from the lead trio, Lesley Manville and Ashleigh Cummings are set to reprise their roles. The makers have also expanded its ensemble cast for the second season. Joining the mission are Jack Reynor as Hutch, Matt Berry as Franke Sharpe, and Lina El Arabi as Celine. Other notable additions to the cast include Merle Dandridge, Gabriel Leone, and Rayna Vallandingham.

Citadel is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO. The executive production team remains a powerhouse, featuring Anthony Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Scott Nemes for AGBO. David Weil returns to serve as the showrunner, director, and executive producer. Joe Russo and Greg Yaitanes are also on board as directors and executive producers for the new season.
