Parliament Intruders Got Passes From BJP MP Prathap Simha’s Office

After the major security breach in the Lok Sabha, in which two men carrying smoke canisters jumped into the chamber of the House from the visitors’ gallery, BSP MP Danish Ali told NDTV that at least one of the passes recovered after the attack had been issued by BJP MP Prathap Simha’s office. 

Sources have also confirmed to NDTV that both men who jumped into the chamber were given visitors’ passes by Mr Simha. 

Expressing shock at the breach, several Members of Parliament said visitors have to clear five levels of security before entering the complex and that signatures from the office of an MP are needed for a pass to the visitors’ gallery. The breach took place 22 years after the attack on Parliament in 2001.

Prathap Simha is an MP from Mysore in Karnataka and, according to the police, at least one of the men who jumped into the chamber is linked to his constituency. Manoranjan D, 35, is a Bachelor of Engineering graduate from Mysore Vivekanand University in Bengaluru and his father stays in Mysore’s Vijaynagar. 

Mr Simha had won from the Mysore constituency with 43.46% of votes in 2014 and increased his vote share to 52.27% in the 2019 elections. The 42-year-old is a former journalist and is well-known for a series of columns. He also wrote a biography of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2007. 

The son of a farmer, the MP had earlier said that he idolises PM Modi.

Around 1 pm today, Manoranjan D and Sagar Sharma jumped from the visitors’ gallery into the chamber of the Lok Sabha. Footage showed Sagar jumping over desks and heading towards the Speaker’s chair, while Manoranjan sprayed yellowish smoke from one of the canisters. 

A man and a woman, identified as Amol Shinde and Neelam Devi, were also detained outside Parliament with coloured smoke canisters.

Ranbir Kapoor has been riding high on success since the release of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. Not only has the film become his biggest hit, but it also holds the distinction of being the highest-grossing A-rated film in Indian cinema. Recently, a Twitter user encountered the actor at the airport and shared that Ranbir’s next project is set to be Ramayana, scheduled to commence in the summer of 2024.

Additional details about the film’s shooting schedule are now emerging. According to a report by a leading news portal, As part of the pre-production process for Ramayana, Ranbir Kapoor is scheduled to visit the VFX office of DNEG in LA early next year. In January 2024, he will participate in technical rehearsals lasting a couple of weeks, primarily focused on pre-visualization.

The world of Ramayana has been crafted by the Oscar-winning VFX company, DNEG, which is also leading the production of this epic. The creators aim to pioneer innovative filmmaking technology, with extensive testing already conducted with all three leads: Ranbir, Sai Pallavi, and Yash.

Ramayana is set to be a trilogy, with the first part concentrating on the characters of Ram and Sita, introducing Hanuman. The second part will delve into the character arc of Raavana, portrayed by Yash, while the third part will unfold the epic battle between good and evil.

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan, marked her acting debut in the film The Archies. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the movie, a musical adaptation from the beloved Archies comics, features Suhana portraying the character of Veronica Lodge. In a circulating clip  on social media, Suhana engages in a light-hearted banter with Amitabh Bachchan. Seated alongside her director Zoya Akhtar, the interaction unfolds as Bachchan asks Suhana about the advice she received from her father, Shah Rukh Khan, before appearing on the show. Suhana responds sweetly, “He asked me to remind you that you’ve played his father on screen, so ask me easy questions.” Her retort leaves Bachchan momentarily speechless, eliciting laughter from the audience.

While Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda also debuted in The Archies, he isn’t featured in the promo clip of the game show. The entire Bachchan family had attended the premiere of ‘The Archies’ to support Agastya. Ahead of the film’s release, Amitabh Bachchan took to social media to share a heartfelt post for his grandson. Sharing a photo capturing three generations of Bachchans – himself, son Abhishek Bachchan, and grandson Agastya – Amitabh expressed his affection, writing, “Agastya with love and more .. shine sway you are RIZZ !!!”

The Archies, a coming-of-age musical, delves into the lives of iconic characters like Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel, and Dilton in the fictional town of Riverdale. The film explores themes of friendship, freedom, love, heartbreak, and rebellion. Apart from Suhana and Agastya, the movie features Khushi Kapoor, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, and Aditi Saigal, also known as Dot.
