50 Cent Opens Up About His Decision to Never Get Married: ‘I’m Not A Happy Hostage’

During his visit to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, 50 Cent examined the choice he has made to remain single and celibate at this stage of life. The 49-year-old rapper and entrepreneur, whose net worth is reaching the status of a billionaire, justified his decision to shun marriage and romance, and instead, choosing to work for himself.

In the interview, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson explained how avoiding intimacy has helped him maintain order in both his private and working life. He explained how a clear mental state without the burden of any romantic involvement has allowed him to be focused which suggests that love can be a blinder, especially to men. In removing that aspect of his life Fifty perceives he has redirected a significant amount of energy towards what is essential to him – his work, self-improvement and looking after himself.

Discussing marriage, the Many Men (Wish Death) rapper did not hide his happiness in having chosen to be unmarried. He comically described himself as a “free” person who is not tied up, stating that there may be 99 problems that one can have in life but failure to get married ain’t one of them. The rapper while speaking did not hide his enjoyment of his lifestyle at present devoid of the worries and burden of being in a love life. He said with a chuckle, “I am safe. I’m not a happy hostage. I’m here. I’m free. I made some mistakes, just not that one.”

Colbert, always in a joking way, sarcastically inquired from the rapper the reason for having so much wealth in accumulation when the Candy Shop rapper himself does not have anyone special to spend it on. The Get Rich or Die Tryin’ rapper gently insinuated that family is after all a limitation to wealth accumulation.

He explained that often it is money that brings the two together but makes it harder for them to form a really stable and long-lasting marriage since both parties end up having different motives for being in the marriage – which is a pitfall. He hinted that financial success can draw people who are not looking for emotional satisfaction, which only made his choice to remain single even stronger.

As for the activities that occupy his spare time, 50 Cent stated that quite a lot of his time is spent working out. He engages in fitness training several times a week and follows a schedule. He boasted about being able to lift 105-pound weights, signing again that he is fit and healthy and stays active.

Even while Colbert jokingly stated that 50 Cent’s nights must be boring the rapper was quick to educate him on the fact that his single status is not that dull. He added, “I want someone I can love in my life too, just not right now. I’m fine” when the host brought up his wishes for the P.I.M.P. rapper to find true love.

In this scene, Patralekhaa, portraying air hostess Indrani, breaks down as she asks a hijacker to call her family. She hopes that if someone answers, she’ll know her father is safe.

Earlier, Rajkummar posted a behind-the-scenes image of Patralekhaa from her latest series, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, on Instagram Stories. He praised her performance, highlighting it as exceptional and noting that reviews are reflecting the same sentiment. Expressing his pride, he celebrated her work and affectionately conveyed his admiration.

For those unfamiliar, the recently released Netflix series has sparked controversy shortly after its debut. The uproar began on social media, where there were strong calls for a boycott, demanding that the showrunners change the names of the hijackers from Shankar and Bhola to their real identities. Critics alleged that the series made an offensive attempt to shield the terrorists associated with a specific community. This controversy prompted the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting to summon Netflix India’s content head.

Directed by Anubhav Sinha, this gripping series explores the tragic hijacking of Indian Airlines IC-814 on December 24, 1999, by five terrorists. The hijackers named Ibrahim Athar, Sunny Ahmed Qazi, Zahoor Ibrahim, Shahid Akhter, and Sayed Shakir took control of the aircraft just 40 minutes after it departed from Kathmandu, en route to Delhi. Patralekhaa’s performance has been widely praised by audiences for her heartfelt portrayal of an air hostess, showcasing a nurturing instinct and deep emotional connection with the passengers, treating them with the care and affection one would offer to their own children.

“Treated Like Garbage”: French Woman On Husband Who Let 50 Men Rape Her

A 72-year-old French woman, whose husband admitted to drugging her and inviting dozens of men to rape her over a decade, told a court that she was treated “like a rag doll” and was “sacrificed on the altar of vice”.

In a calm and clear voice, Gisele Pelicot, in the southern French city of Avignon, detailed the horror of how her husband Dominique Pelicot, 71, allegedly lined up scores of men to rape her while she was unconscious.

This happened close to 100 times in their home for nearly a decade, while her husband systematically filmed the suspected rapes and stored thousands of images as well as videos later found by the investigators.

“I was sacrificed on the altar of vice… They regarded me like a rag doll, like a garbage bag… I no longer have an identity. I don’t know if I will ever rebuild myself,” she testified, as per a report in The Independent.

She added, “For me, everything collapses. These are scenes of barbarity, of rape.”

She said she was abused at least six times by someone, who was known to have HIV.

“My life was in danger but not one second did anyone stop… I was tested for HIV as one man who came (to rape me) six times was seropositive,” Gisele told the court, testifying about the abuse inflicted on her between 2011 and 2020, New York Post reported.

Police ‘saved my life’

The woman said the “police saved my life” after they investigated her husband’s computer back in November 2020 after he was caught by a security guard filming up the skirts of women at a supermarket near their home in a village in southern France, The Guardian reported.

Describing the moment the investigators first showed her the videos of images of sexual abuse orchestrated and filmed by her husband, Gisele Pelicot termed it as “an explosion, a tsunami”.

“My world is falling apart. For me, everything is falling apart. Everything I have built up over 50 years… Frankly, these are scenes of horror for me,” she said while Dominique Pelicot kept listening to her in court with his head bowed.

The report stated that while investigating the case, police saw a file, labelled “abuses” on the USB drive that was connected to Dominique Pelicot’s computer. While searching the drive, officials found nearly 20,000 images and films of the woman getting raped almost 100 times.

The crime

According to police, the accused husband used to crush sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication and mix them into his wife’s meal or wine. He then used to invite men to rape her after contacting them through an online chatroom.

Dominique Pelicot as well as 50 other men, aged between 26 and 74, are on trial, reports said.

According to The Telegraph, the woman’s husband and 14 other co-accused have admitted to rape, while 35 men, belonging to all walks of life, have denied the charges, claiming the woman was in some way consented to libertine sex.
