Police sources, who checked the surveillance cameras, revealed that a man in an autorickshaw wearing a white t-shirt was caught lurking near the house in the union territory’s posh Sector 10 area.
Popular stand-up comedian and actor Vir Das has become the first Indian to host the 2024 International Emmys. Elated by the news, Bollywood celebrities Alia Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra and Ayushmann Khurrana have reacted to the development.
A while back, Vir Das took to his Instagram handle and shared the big news with his fans and followers. The latest post featured his photograph as he revealed that he will be hosting the prestigious International Emmy Awards. By doing so, he becomes the first Indian to host the coveted event.
Expressing delight on the same, he wrote, “Thanks to your support, an Indian Emmy Host (Nationa flag and folding hands emojis). I can’t wait to host the @iemmys this year! Crazy. Thank you for having me. Tremendously honoured and excited!”
Soon after the post was shared, Bollywood celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Ayushmann Khurrana, Priyanka Chopra hit the like button reacting to the post. In addition to this, Hrithik Roshan wrote, “Wow. That’s amazing. Very well done (accompanied by a clap emoji),” Shefali Shah wrote, “That’s super cooooollllll congrats,” veteran actress Soni Razdan wrote, “WOW(accompanied by fire, clap and heart-eye emoji).”
In addition to this, Kriti Sanon commented, “That’s so amazing!! (accompanied by raised hands and clap emoji)” and Dia Mirza wrote, “This is absolutely amazing(accompanied by red-heart and tiger emoji),” Zoya Akhtar wrote, “Of course you are (accompanied by red-heart and hug emoji)” and Homi Adajania wrote, “Good on you @virdas Bravo! (accompanied by raised hand and clap emojis)”
In an official statement according to The Hollywood Reporter, Vir Das expressed his happiness stating, “I am so happy to be hosting the International Emmys. It’s a massive prestigious night to uphold makers from across a world that I believe is making its best content. I know first-hand how it can be life-changing.”
Vir Das is known for his stand-up comedy acts. In addition to this, he has also been a part of several Bollywood films like Delhi Belly, Go Goa Gone, and Badmaash Company. Furthermore, he has also created, produced, and starred in several series, including ABC’s Whiskey Cavalier, Netflix’s Hasmukh, and Amazon’s Jestination Unknown.
He was recently seen in Ananya Panday led series, Call Me Bae.

Katy Perry is having the most iconic night of the year winning Video Vanguard and Most Iconic Performance at the MTV VMAs 2024, and her acceptance speech is even more iconic.
The Harleys In Hawaii hitmaker graced the stage to receive her Video Vanguard honor at the MTV Video Music Awards 2024 with a heartwarming speech rife with humility, gratitude, power, and confidence. She started off thanking MTV for propelling not just songs but also their messages of music artists beyond geographical boundaries.
She, then, thanked her team and record label for being by her side for two decades. She said, “There are so many things that have to align to have a long and successful career as an artist. There are no decade-long accidents. Trust me it takes a village of strong people, a lot of healthy discourse and a lot of group chats.”
She proceeded to extend her gratitude to her family, i.e. her parents, her daughter Daisy and “bygone places” like MySpace where Perry began building her community early on in her career. She also playfully teased Orlando Bloom for his participation in household duties to help her achieve mega success. She didn’t forget to thank her fans “who stood by [her] for a lifetime,” with a special mention of the LGBTQ community for their unconditional support towards her music.
Reflecting on the present state of pop music, she expressed excitement about seeing up and coming music artists shine through with confidence, agency, vulnerability and authenticity.
Her pearls of wisdom shone through as she said, “One of the biggest reasons I’m standing here now is I learned how to block out all the noise; that every single artist in this industry has to constantly fight against, especially women.”
Katy Perry concluded her speech nodding to her contemporaries as well as juniors such as Taylor Swift, assertively stating, “Do what you were born to do, just like I was born to do this.”
