The Ministry of Civil Aviation detailed how Ajit Pawar’s aircraft made multiple approaches before crashing near the threshold of Runway 11 minutes after being cleared to land.

Dense fog likely caused the aircraft crash at MIDC airstrip, with poor visibility also grounding Western Naval Command helicopters recently.

Sixty-six-year-old Ajit Pawar, reports said, was to attend four important public meetings in Baramati ahead of the zila parishad election next month
