Nayanthara and R. Madhavan played a married couple and delivered commendable performances in an otherwise slow-paced sports drama Test (2025). While critics found the film’s screenplay to be a letdown, they highlighted that Nayanthara and Madhavan have put their best foot forward. Away from the arch lights, both the actors share a close, friendly, and ‘family-like’ bond, further strengthened by their collaboration in the Test.
Nayanthara and Madhavan’s friendship grew during the filming process, with both parties publicly expressing admiration for each other. Following the film’s production, they have been seen socializing together, often with their respective partners, Vignesh Shivan and Sarita. Nayanthara has described Madhavan and his wife as among the warmest, kindest people, often calling them family. Every time we meet them, it feels like we’ve known them for years. Now they’re not just friends, they’re family. Love n only love.”
