Bihar braces for assembly election vote counting today, with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar seeking a fifth term. Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav has warned against any ‘unconstitutional activity’ during the process. Ram Charan’s captivating dance moves in the recently released Chikiri Chikiri song from Peddi left the audiences mesmerized. With music by the legendary AR Rahman, soulful vocals by Mohit Chauhan, and Balaji’s insightful lyrics, the peppy number already crossed 46 million views. Elated with the super success, director Buchi Babu Sana shared insights into what resonated with the audiences.
Sharing his thoughts about the Chikiri Chikiri song, Buchi Babu Sana shared that no sooner he heard the tune composed by Rahman he was confident the song would instantly strike a chord with the audiences. “But the response is bigger than anticipated; it is overwhelming. Chikiri is a very colloquial word that means ‘cute,’ and is confined to a specific region. But Rahman sir’s tune and Ram Charan garu’s incredible energy in the hook step made it an instant hit.” Jani Master choreography has been a major highlight.
The director further reveals that he wanted to retain the essence and authenticity of the song to stay true to the script. “The song is basically a celebration of Peddi’s ‘love at first sight’ moment. How someone who lives in the mountains is mesmerized when he sees his Chikiri (Janhvi Kapoor) for the first time in the village. She stirs a sea of emotions within him, and that’s the song situation. So, we attempted to drive the narrative where Peddi celebrates her beauty. At the same time, we didn’t want to deviate from the core plot, and that’s what truly resonated with people.” He credits cinematographer Rathnavelu for the aesthetic and stunning visuals of the song. Peddi is a rustic sports drama set in the 1980s in Uttarandhra region. The film chronicles the emotional journey of a spirited villager who tries to unite his community through sports in a bid to defend their pride against a powerful rival.

Kriti Sanon and Vicky Kaushal were the recent guests on Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle. In the latest episode, the two powerhouse actors opened up about their careers and industry friends. When asked about his wife Katrina Kaif, Vicky shared that he made her fall in love with a Punjabi song before their marriage.
He said, “I love Punjabi music, I listen to a lot of Punjabi music. Once we (he and Katrina) were travelling, this was before we got married. There was one Punjabi song I was tripping on. I was loving that Punjabi song. She also started enjoying it… Then she very cutely made a video of singing that song in Punjabi. She was like, ‘I’m going to sing this song.’ She thought it was a romantic song.”
In relation to that, Kriti Sanon opened up about Katrina’s changed tastes after marriage Vicky. She noted that the two of them shared a gym and used to speak to each other quite often. However, she was shocked hearing Katrina’s playlist one day, which was filled with Punjabi songs. “We used to work out in the same gym, me and Katrina. And when she started dating you, suddenly, her playlist changed. Suddenly, her playlist had Punjabi music. I looked at her and said, ‘This is your playlist?!’ Because those were definitely not the songs she was listening to before. She was like, ‘Yeah, I like it. I can update you’,” she said.
Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif tied the knot at Six Senses Fort Barwara, Rajasthan on December 9, 2021. They welcomed their first child, a son, on November 7, 2025.
On the professional front, Vicky is currently gearing up for the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. It also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in leading roles. Katrina last starred in the 2023 release Merry Christmas. The actress did not announce any new projects yet.
