Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan is set to undergo surgery for a rotator cuff injury. He visited Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on Monday, where doctors diagnosed severe damage to his rotator cuff along with tears in two shoulder muscles. Although the surgery was advised immediately, the Gabbar Singh star has chosen to postpone the procedure to complete his official and government commitments first.

Once the surgery is performed, Pawan is expected to remain away from public appearances for a couple of weeks while he recovers. His rehabilitation will include post-operative care and physiotherapy.
The injury reportedly has a long history. Pawan’s shoulder problems are said to stem from years of being pulled and grabbed by fans during rallies, roadshows, and election campaigns, where large crowds often surge forward to greet him. He has previously spoken about being handled roughly during such events, which he believes contributed to long-term strain on his neck and shoulders. Despite the discomfort, he has continued interacting with supporters rather than avoiding public contact.
Earlier this year, Pawan underwent Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery at Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad. He is also currently observing Chaturmasya Deeksha, a period of religious austerity.

Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan recently announced OG 2, reuniting with director Sujeeth to expand the OG Universe. The sequel will explore the origins of his gangster character, Ojas Gambheera, with composer Thaman returning for the project. The announcement comes after the success of They Call Him OG. The film is presently in pre-production. A picture of Pawan and director Sujeeth discussing about the sequel was recently released by the makers much to the fans delight. Over the past year, Pawan has also starred in Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Ustaad Bhagat Singh. OG 2 is expected to go on floors later this year.

The Pizza franchise is officially returning for another outing. On Monday, the makers announced Pizza 4, the latest instalment in the cult Tamil horror thriller series that began over a decade ago. The film will be produced by CV Kumar under his Thirukumaran Entertainment banner, continuing his long association with the franchise.
A new slice of horror takes shape
While Sreesh Vijay has been roped in to direct the film, the story and screenplay have been written by CV Kumar. The screenplay is being adapted by the director, with dialogues penned by Yogaraj K. Sivakumar will serve as the executive producer.
This marks another attempt to expand one of Tamil cinema’s most recognisable horror franchises, with each film telling a standalone story linked by its supernatural themes rather than recurring characters.
Bigg Boss Tamil fame Prajin will headline Pizza 4, marking a significant addition to the actor’s filmography. He will be joined by social media influencer Hussain in a prominent role, while details of the remaining cast are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
A franchise with a lasting legacy
Ever since Pizza released in 2012, the franchise has enjoyed a special place among fans of Tamil horror cinema. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj in his feature debut, the original starred Vijay Sethupathi and Remya Nambeesan and was praised for its inventive storytelling, atmospheric tension and unexpected twists. The film also played an important role in launching both Karthik Subbaraj and Vijay Sethupathi into the mainstream.
Its success paved the way for Pizza II: The Villa in 2013, starring Ashok Selvan, followed years later by Pizza 3: The Mummy, which featured Ashwin Kakumanu in the lead. Although each instalment explored a different story and set of characters, the series retained its signature blend of psychological suspense and supernatural horror.

For Pizza 4, the technical team includes cinematographer Hariharan Anandharajah, editor PK and production designer Vignesh. With production now officially announced, more details about the film’s plot, supporting cast and release timeline are expected in the months ahead.
As one of Tamil cinema’s most successful anthology style horror franchises, Pizza continues to generate curiosity with every new chapter. Fans will now be eager to see what fresh mystery awaits in its fourth serving.
