Elizabeth Banks, an actress with a great deal of talent and known for her roles in Pitch Perfect and The Hunger Games, recounted a frightening experience she had recently. She nearly lost her life while acting in her new movie, Skincare. In fact, Banks was alone in her trailer during lunchtime when this horrifying event took place.

On the Good Morning America show, Banks talked about how she got choked by a small green pea. She could not even shout for help when she learned that it was choking. The door to the trailer flew open as she hoped someone would perceive her distress.

It happened that one of the crew members called Julius came to help her. He asked if she needed any aid when he noticed that she had choked on something. When Banks nodded, Julius promptly applied the Heimlich maneuver which is a lifesaving technique involving applying pressure on someone’s abdomen to push out lodged food.

Banks stressed the importance of knowing how to do the Heimlich maneuver. “Make sure you know how to do it,” Banks declared passionately urging everybody in sight. For example, fear of cracking ribs while doing this procedure is among these myths which were debunked by her by insisting: “They’re dying, so crack a rib if you have to.”

Patrick Warburton Reveals Ellen DeGeneres Confronted Him When He Declined To Appear In Her Sitcom Ellen

Human relationships are invariably complex, made even more difficult by individual choices and thoughts. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach; similarly, there’s no one-opinion-fits-all. This idea is exemplified in the latest episode of SiriusXM’s The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw, where Patrick Warburton discussed an uncomfortable confrontation with Ellen DeGeneres after he turned down a guest role on her sitcom Ellen.

Warburton mentioned that he was ready to move on after making a few guest appearances on Ellen, which ran for five seasons from 1994 to 1998. He explained, “I was just kind of done doing guest spots at that time and it was sort of time to move on, and I just said I had a conflict, all right? So, that was it.”

However, DeGeneres herself was not happy with his decision and confronted him about it when he was having lunch with a friend.

Warburton said that after DeGeneres wasn’t happy with his decision not to return to her show, she confronted him two weeks later. While he was having lunch with a friend, Ellen walked up to him and directly said, “Too big to do my show now, huh?” Warburton responded, “No, Ellen. I just had a conflict,” but she probably sensed it was just an excuse, and she walked away.

He later noted that she was spurned after that date, and he realized at that point why he never got invited as a guest on her popular talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which aired for 19 seasons before coming to an end in 2022 amid allegations of a hostile workplace.

Despite Warburton’s unwanted confrontation with the media personality, he said that he is still “a huge fan” of the comedian.

“What I recall working on that show was that as far as crowd work and talking, she was just this remarkable comedian, you know, at the very, very top of the game,” he said. “She was as good as anybody, but it was just weird.” he claimed on the latest episode of SiriusXM’s The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw.

Most recently, DeGeneres canceled four forthcoming show dates just one month after kicking off the stand-up tour. No details were provided for the cancellation besides an alert from Ticketmaster.

Red Alert Came Hours After Tragedy: Pinarayi Vijayan Contradicts Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s comment that Kerala was sent a red alert about heavy rains and landslide, has been negated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who indicated that it was a case of too little too late. Not only was the rain warning way off mark, the red alerts came hours after the Wayanad tragedy, he told reporters this evening.

Pointing to the continuing rescue work, Mr Vijayan also said this was “not the time for blame game”.

Search operation in the landslide-hit zone of Wayanad is in progress amid torrential downpour. Around 200 people continue to be missing and 205 are confirmed dead.

“I do not wish to engage in a blame game now as the people in Wayanad are going through untold misery on account of the massive landslide. But the fact of the matter is that there were predictions that came out and they never mentioned a red alert in the affected area. In fact, the red alert came on Tuesday at 6 am, when the tragedy occurred several hours before,” Mr Vijayan was quoted as saying by news agency IANS.

“The IMD had predicted rains to the tune of 115 mm to 204 mm in the affected area. But in the first 24 hours, there was 200 mm and in the next 24 hours, 372 mm rain came down, making it a staggering 572 mm in 48 hours — much more than predicted. So with these being the facts, I wish to state, that this is not the time for wrangling,” Mr Vijayan added.

The Chief Minister also said that there was no prediction of landslides from the Geological Survey of India and when this came, the tragedy had already taken place.

“Then there was an alert from the Central Water Commission and it said that from July 23 to 29, not for one single day… of the two rivers which got swollen, there was no mention at all. What was said in the Parliament is not true,” he said. He even pointed out that there was a mention that the NDRF (National Desaster Response Force) was sent early, “but the fact is we asked for it”.

Earlier today, Mr Shah had told parliament that the Kerala government was given warning about potential landslides on July 23 — a week before the Wayanad tragedy.

“India is among four countries that can provide warning on natural disasters at least seven days in advance,” he had said, underscoring that the Centre had also sent nine NDRF teams. “The Kerala government did not evacuate people in time,” he had told Rajya Sabha.
