The government has formally protested BBC’s use of “militants” instead of “terrorists” in its coverage of the Pahalgam attack, which resulted in 26 deaths. Simultaneously, India banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels, including prominent networks like Dawn News and Geo News, for allegedly spreading misinformation and provocative content against India, its army, and security agencies following the tragic incident.

Following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 tourists, the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly convened a special session today. India banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels, including prominent news outlets, for disseminating misinformation against the nation and its security forces.

The House further extended support to the diplomatic measures announced by the Union Government on April 23, 2025.
