US President Donald Trump on Wednesday called international students “troublemakers” and suggested a 15 per cent cap should be imposed on the admission of foreign students at Harvard University and other American higher education institutions.

A video of the incident went viral, in which the minister can be seen standing with at least eight other people in the lift.

Elon Musk concluded his advisory role to President Trump, casting shadows on the future of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk cited the end of his term as a Special Government Employee and disagreements over Trump’s “big beautiful bill” as key factors. Frustration with bureaucratic hurdles and limited success in achieving substantial spending cuts also contributed to his decision.
