Bharatiya Janata Party has responded to Congress accusations regarding the Sanchar Saathi app. BJP leaders stated the app aims to protect users from fraud and crime, not to monitor them. They emphasised that the application can be removed by users. Congress had alleged the directive was dictatorial and called the app a snooping tool.

In 2022, then Haryana assembly speaker Gian Chand Gupta had demanded land for a new Vidhan Sabha building in Chandigarh. 

In an affidavit, the state stated that the tragedy was not caused by any failure of the police, but by the organisers’ disregard for public safety.
