The woman who was arrested on Monday for driving the BMW that killed a senior finance ministry official last week will remain in judicial custody at least till Saturday, as the Delhi High Court adjourned its hearing on her petition against the action

Gaganpreet Makkad, the driver in the BMW crash, was denied bail by a Delhi court. She is accused of culpable homicide in the death of Navjot Singh. Makkad claimed no intent or negligence. The court extended her judicial custody. Police confirmed she was not drunk. Singh died after Makkad’s car hit his scooter. His wife was seriously injured.

A sub-inspector in Varanasi was allegedly assaulted by a group of lawyers on court premises over a land dispute. He claimed he was beaten unconscious and robbed.
