According to Coughlan, she officially requested the PG version by making it a clause in her contract.

The Barbie actress revealed that she would only show the alternative version of the new season to her mother, in order to shield her from the heavily saucy scenes of the show. Coughlan and Luke Newton (Colin Bridgerton) are leading the show’s third season, which is supposed to be released in two separate parts. The first instalment is slated to release on May 16 while the second instalment will release on June 13.

The new season is supposed to establish the romance between Penelope and Colin, while showing longer glimpses of Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Bridgerton’s (Simone Ashley) life after marriage.
