Did Drake Send Cease And Desist Letter To Stop Kendrick Lamar From Performing Not Like Us At Super Bowl LIX? Rep Addresses Rumor

The rap feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, which seemingly ended when the Damn rapper released Not Like Us became the topic subject of discussion again as the rumors about the Midnights vocalist sending Cease and Desist letter asking him not to perform the track during the Super Bowl LIX started making rounds on the internet. The speculations can easily be put to rest now as Drake’s rep finally clarified them.

The rep of the rapper told Page Six that the speculations about the Cease and Desist letter are “not true.” A source also revealed to the outlet that there wasn’t any such plan or intent of Drake to send that letter to anybody.

According to the publication, the rumors about this started when Wack 100, who also manages The Game and Blueface claimed this during an interview. The manager alleged in a video shared by Livbitez, that the Gods Plan rapper was attempting to get Lamar restricted by the NFL.

When Wack 100 was asked it he thought that claimed restriction would “hold”, he replied, “No, if Jay-Z got something to do with it, it ain’t.”

However, to take you back in time, when the rap beef between Lamar and Drake was still on, One Dance was sent a Cease and Desist letter by Tupac Shakur’s estate for using his AI-generated voice in his rap titled, Taylor Made Freestyle.

In the letter, it was said that the use of the Changes vocalist’s voice was a “blatant abuse” of his legacy. The song was then removed from online platforms.

When Not Like Us was dropped, it didn’t take long for the song to become a hit. Many serious allegations against Drake were utilized in its lyrics.

The claims that the Rich Baby Daddy liking underage girls were alleged in the verse of the song. The lyrics read, “Say, Drake, I hear you like ’em young / You better not ever go to cell block one / To any bitch that talk to him and they in love / Just make sure you hide your lil’ sister from him.”

The severe allegation was denied by the Degrassi alum in The Hear Pt6. In the song, he mentioned feeling disgusted and stated that he would have been arrested if that was the case.

‘Needing The Hose Rn’: Bowen Yang Responds To Criticism Over Chappell Roan-Moo Deng Skit On SNL After Online Backlash

Bowen Yang has shared his ‘personal stance’ on the Chappell Roan situation after his Moo Deng sketch on Saturday Night Live Season 50 premiere went viral for seemingly shading the singer. Yang appeared as ‘your favorite hippo’s favorite hippo’ on the Weekend Update segment of the show hosted by Colin Jost and Michael Che. Dressed as the internet’s favorite Thai baby pygmy hippopotamus, he comedically complained about the burden of fame.

Yang’s skit attracted headlines as well as fierce censure from Roan’s fans as they believed it went against what Roan has vehemently advocated for — boundaries between fans and artists — ever since she exploded into fame. After inciting fans due to the controversial depiction, especially one that seemed to downplay Roan, Yang felt it appropriate to clarify on Instagram. He said that his position is and always has been supportive of Roan.

Yang responded to the negativity on his social media clarifying that his goal was to support Roan’s efforts. According to him, all the issues she had been raising about privacy and boundaries were quite fair. He wrote on his IG story, “If my personal stance and the piece aren’t absolutely clear in terms of supporting her then there it is I guess.”

Bowen elaborated, “Everything she has ever asked for has been reasonable and even then we can connect it to another story about boundaries or whatever.”

In the said SNL segment, Yang, who wore a wobbly costume of a hippo, as Moo Deng conveyed the message of healthy boundaries through humor such as women owe nothing to society and need space, a similar message Roan is conveying in reality. He referenced Roan’s troubles with fan boundaries saying, “Do not yell my name or expect a photo just because I’m your parasocial bestie or because you appreciate my talent.”

He kept the comedy alive with the refrain “Needing the hose rn” earning chortles. Colin Jost even jokingly pointed out the similarity of his issues at hand, to that of the Pink Pony Club singer.

Chappell Roan recently declared that she will no longer perform at the All Things Go Festival weekend citing health issues. She had recently revealed a severe depression diagnosis as well. The 26-year-old singer also made known her struggle with sudden fame, outlining various challenges that came with it, including the invasion of her privacy and toxic fan behavior.

Meanwhile, Bowen Yang’s Moo Deng skit as well as his stance stays in favor of Roan, as the comedian has clarified. He also appeared as Charli XCX and JD Vance in different skits through the season 50 premiere of Saturday Night Live.

Govinda To Be In Hospital For Few Days, Cops Seize Revolver After Misfire

Renowned actor Govinda suffered a bullet injury in his leg this morning when he misfired his licensed revolver. The 60-year-old actor was rushed to Criticare Hospital near his Juhu home with a wound under his knee and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. The bullet was extracted after an hour-long surgery, but Govinda may remain in hospital for a few days.

According to his manager Shashi Sinha, Govinda was getting ready to leave for the airport for a Kolkata trip when the incident occurred. “We had a 6 am flight to catch for a show in Kolkata and I had reached the airport. Govinda ji was about to leave his residence for the airport when this accident happened,” the actor’s manager said. It is due to God’s grace that Govinda ji sustained only a leg injury and it was nothing serious,” he added.

Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja was in Kolkata and the actor was alone at home. Ms Ahuja left for Mumbai as soon as she heard of the incident.

According to his manager, Govinda was keeping his licensed revolver inside a cupboard when he dropped the weapon and it went off. The actor called up his wife and his manager. The manager rushed to his home. Police reached soon after and the actor was taken to the hospital. Later, his daughter Tina Ahuja reached the hospital.

Dr Ramesh Agarwal, who performed the surgery, said the bullet had been removed and Govinda’s condition was stable. The actor would be discharged in three to four days, but needs about a month’s rest, the doctor said.

The actor released an audio message to fans from the hospital. He said the blessings of his fans, parents and his guru saved him. “I was hit by a bullet, but it has been extracted. I thank the doctors here and your prayers,” he said in the audio clip.

Several family members and well-wishers of the actor reached the hospital after hearing of the incident.

Vinay Anand, Govinda’s nephew said, “His condition is stable now and he will be back home soon. Thank you to Govinda’s fans for all the love and support over the last 25 years.”

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde made a phone call to Govinda, also a Shiv Sena leader, to check on him. “I have personally reached out to Govinda to convey my deep concern about his health condition. On behalf of the government and people of our state, I wish him a swift and complete recovery,” Mr Shinde said in a statement. “I have assured Govinda that he and his family will receive all necessary support during this challenging time. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his loved ones.”

Earlier in the day, reports had said Govinda had not registered a police complaint. But police have seized his weapon and started a probe into the incident. Security has been tightened at the hospital.
