On Thursday morning, Tollywood superstar Jr NTR visited NTR Ghat near Hyderabad’s Hussain Sagar Lake to pay floral tributes to his grandfather, legendary actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao (NTR), on his 103rd birth anniversary. Several members of the Nandamuri family also visited the memorial and paid their respects to the iconic leader and actor. As part of the customary tribute ceremony, the RRR star offered flowers at the memorial while enthusiastic fans gathered in large numbers to catch a glimpse of their favourite actor.

A towering figure in Telugu cinema and politics, NTR starred in over 300 films and continues to remain a cultural force even decades after his passing. Born in 1923, the legendary actor-politician passed away in 1996, but his legacy continues to inspire generations. Fans shared emotional videos and tributes on social media, celebrating his enduring contribution to Telugu pride and culture. Apart from Jr NTR, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chiranjeevi, and several other personalities from different walks of life paid rich tributes to the screen legend and political icon.

Star birthdays in Telugu cinema always draw big movie announcements. Nandamuri fans out there are eagerly looking forward to June 10. On that day, Nandamuri Balakrishna will celebrate his birthday. A major update regarding his upcoming film is expected to drop as a special gift to the fan base.

Director Gopichand Malineni is currently preparing this exciting update. Industry circles suggest that the official title of the film will finally be revealed. The announcement will likely arrive alongside a striking special poster. Meanwhile, the production is moving at a fast pace. The team recently wrapped up a crucial shooting schedule in Hyderabad. Now, the crew is heading to Mumbai for their next major filming schedule.

Historical period action drama

This project, temporarily referred to as NBK111 (being Balakrishna’s 111 film), is shaping up to be a grand historical period action drama. A powerful, unprecedented avatar is what the hero is expected to be seen in. Early promotional posters featured a roaring lion wearing metallic armour. These visuals strongly hint at themes of deep bravery, personal duality, and intense royal warfare. Rumours also indicate that Balakrishna might portray a dual role, something that is a hit formula in his case. While Nayanthara is confirmed to play the female lead, Manchu Manoj’s presence in a negative role is expected to be one of the film’s major highlights.

Unmatched screen presence

Balakrishna continues to dominate the box office and deliver consistent results. His age has never slowed down his unmatched screen presence or physical energy. He recently scored consecutive blockbusters with high-octane films like Akhanda, Veera Simha Reddy, Bhagavanth Kesari, and Daaku Maharaaj. And the actor is giving youngsters a good run for the money.

Meanwhile, on June 10, an update is also expected on NBK112, directed by Koratala Siva. “Power Meets Purpose, Mass Becomes A Movement,” the makers of the movie stated, recently announcing the project. NBK111 and NBK112 will be among Balakrishna’s biggest movie releases.

Shamita Shetty has issued a sharp response to social media users who targeted her with comments about her age and marital status. Known for her roles in films like Mohabbatein, Zeher, and Cash, she took to her Instagram Stories to address the criticism directly after a user mocked her appearance and questioned why she remained unmarried.

The controversy began when a social media user posted comments on Shamita’s account, writing, “Apki age ho gayi hai pehle wali baat nahi rahi (You have grown old now; you are not the same as before).” Responding to the remarks about her changing appearance, Shamita wrote, “Yes, I will look different. Things change with time; it’s the natural way of life. Nothing stays forever, including physical appearance! BUT for my age, I’m healthy, fit, and happy with a grateful heart for all that the almighty has given me… and that’s all that matters to me.”

The troll further commented on her personal life, writing, “Agar shaadi time par kar leti to aapke bache aaj bade ho gaye hote (If you had gotten married on time, your children would have grown up by now).” Shamita did not hold back in her reply to this comment. She replied, “Toh? Yes, you stated the obvious… so? Aapne shaadi karke kya ukhaad liya hai bhai (What miracle you have cracked after getting married)?”

Shamita also addressed the underlying negativity directed at single women online. She added, “Most importantly, why the hell do you follow us single women to age-shame us and inflict us with your patriarchal, cave-man-like, male-centric thought process! Please do me a favour and unfollow me pronto!”

Shamita, who has consistently maintained that she does not wish to marry just for the sake of societal expectations, previously gained attention for her appearances on reality shows, including Bigg Boss OTT and Bigg Boss 15. She has also moved away from full-time acting in recent years to focus on a successful career in interior design.
