In Manipur’s Senapati district, journalist Dip Saikia, working for a Nagaland-based satellite news channel, was shot while covering a flower festival. Villagers apprehended the assailant, who is now being questioned. The channel editor strongly condemned the attack, calling it an assault on press freedom and democratic values.
