Audience wants intelligent cinema told with a swag.” Another fan wrote, “Ramu really deserves to make a strong return to the film industry with Satya 2, especially since he still possesses that keen, sarcastic wit as a director”. Others wished the filmmaker on his birthday and felt rather nostalgic.  

Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming horror-comedy film, Police Station Mein Bhoot, starring Manoj Bajpayee, Genelia Deshmukh, and Ramya Krishnan, is expected to be released in 2026. The film focuses on a gang member’s ghost haunting a police station, blending crime with supernatural horror elements, under RGV’s signature dark style. Fans are quite excited as they await the official release of the film.

Oscar-award winning music composer MM Keeravani, the prized composer for movies like Baahubali and RRR, has posted a single number on social media today. It read simply “365”. The digit points to exactly one year remaining until the theatrical debut of director SS Rajamouli’s upcoming project. The film, titled Varanasi, features actor Mahesh Babu in the lead role along with Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran. It is scheduled to arrive in theatres on April 7, 2027.

The production team is currently shooting scenes in Hyderabad. Co-producer SS Karthikeya replied to the composer’s update in a playful manner. He inquired when the first song from Varanasi would be ready. The light exchange quickly spread online among fans. Sources close to the project confirmed that the makers remain firm on the fixed release date. No changes are expected at this stage.

The movie is an epic-scale action-adventure tale with grand scale. Countdown updates from big-budget film teams are always good. Such simple posts are more than about buzz creation. They remind viewers that the project is moving forward without delay. Fans feel connected when they see the team share progress openly. These messages also highlight the makers’ commitment to strict timelines. They show discipline in handling both filming and later stages like editing and music. Varanasi’s title was released at a grand event in Hyderabad in November 2025. In the next two days, Rajamouli, Mahesh, Priyanka and Prithviraj recorded interviews for the international media. Varanasi will be the biggest Indian release of 2027.

Comedian Zakir Khan recently took the stage as host at a Bollywood awards show, where his monologue touched upon the current mood in the film industry. Adding his signature humour, he referenced the success of Dhurandhar and hinted that not everyone was entirely pleased with its impact. While many in the audience took it as a playful dig, the remark didn’t sit well with a section of the industry. 

During his act, Zakir said, “Kitne hi congratulatory posts aap daal dein, kitni hi stories daal dein, kitne hi interview mein aap bol dein ‘my favourite film’, magar sach toh yeh hai ki Dhurandhar se sabki jalti toh hai”. The line drew laughter at the venue, but it also sparked debate beyond the stage, with some feeling it crossed the line from humour to commentary.

Siddharth Anand reacted strongly to the joke, writing, “Juhu – Bandra peeps have given all ATBB’s (all-time blockbusters) since the past 50 years. You have to be a real duffer to undermine their contribution”.  Interestingly, filmmaker Siddharth Anand had been among the first to praise the film earlier.

Ameesha Patel also weighed in, defending the industry and calling for a more positive outlook. She posted, “DUDE, Stop spreading NEGATIVITY! The film industry has valued and respected DHURANDHAR!
